I feel really worried about this.

The overcrowding will cause mayhem and panic.

I wonder if the military are going in to support?

Blow?

Well the virus will sweep through them rather fast, I should imagine. I also imagine they'll release a lot of non violent offenders soon.

Hopefully they'll keep hold of the really naughty ones. Police will be stretched enough without a load of opportunist reoffenders taking advantage.

I think we will have riots, they were on a cliff edge before this.

It will go through them like a dose of salts. If there’s a lockdown does that include visiting people in prison? Maybe I have a vivid imagination but I could imagine riots happening.

That's what sparked in Italy I think the visitation stopped.

I hope they're putting a hold on visitors! It's a crowded building, who'd really want to go?

yes I am worried about this. and images of rioting on the news will make it spill out into the rest of society. violence acts like a virus. or am I being catastrophic again?
will a doctor be faced with a morale decision of treating prisoners with the coronavirus in ICU or giving the ventilator to a patient not from prison.

Our local prison had confirmed cases last week. I work in a secure unit and we now have a confirmed case. Expecting it to spread like wildfire.

I hope that support is already on it's way for the staff.

There are suspected cases in my husband's prison (he's an officer not a prisoner Grin ) but they're not testing which seems odd as surely they could find out where it came from easily when you can ascertain who has had contact. A few officers are off just in case but nothing major is happening so far. There were riots in Italy so I am concerned for him though.

Hope he keeps safe and well Horn and sincerely hope it doesn't kick off.
It must be awful for him.

Yep now I think the prisons will blow up... No visitors and regimes with prisoners in cells all day I assume!
