Daughter has chronic condition but GCSE exams in May!

My daughter is on the cusp of GCSE exams but has asthma. It's at times been very badly controlled but with a change in inhalers 2 years ago is much improved. However, she has been hospitalized twice when she was in Y6. Once from catching flu and another episode with unknown trigger. Due to this I would not take any risks with her health.

She's now in Y11 and starts exams in around 8 weeks finishing mid June.

If she has to isolate what would happen regarding exams? I'm beside myself with worry. My husband and I are also in the risk group and my 13 yr old is pretty healthy so we'd have to isolate too, and I'm guessing my youngest would by default in case she brought it into the house?

Husband can work from home. I'm a TA so would just have to take time off (paid? Unpaid?) And youngest could be set work to do at home but what about my oldest. What about exams??

Surely they could put her in a room on her own.

Please don’t worry about this. The government and schools are already considering back up plans - delay or cancel. Just concentrate on your daughter at the moment and reassure her that it will all be ok.
