AIBU to think it’s time to self-isolate? Has anyone else had CV and can tell me how it started?

Of course you need to self isolate. You’re not seriously asking that question?

Did you miss the coronavirus topic?

LandOfAThousandJumpers · 16/03/2020 15:58

Yeah I’m aware of that. I’m interested in people’s own experiences

Yep, time to self-isolate.

You did ask if you were being unreasonable to self-isolate!

annamie · 16/03/2020 15:59

Shut the front door! @LandOfAThousandJumpers has a cough 😱

Of course you self-isolate. Why not go to the Corona virus section instead of starting yet another thread?

DustyMaiden · 16/03/2020 16:02

Maybe op just wanted a hand hold, not ridicule.

Lifeisgenerallyfun · 16/03/2020 16:13

The only person I know who has it started with a really high sweating buckets temp suddenly in the middle of the night followed by a dry (non- productive) cough v soon after. They felt very achy like flu but worse.

Sunflowersok · 16/03/2020 16:18

Yeah, you do! Hope you get well soon Flowers

Waveysnail · 16/03/2020 16:21

R u running temp of more than 38

lycrasensation · 16/03/2020 16:22

@Waveysnail advice is a continuous cough and/OR a temp of 37.8 or more, so based on the cough alone, I would self isolate if I were the OP.

Rhubarbpeony · 16/03/2020 16:24

I think you probably should, yes. Hopefully it’s just a cough but no point risking anything.

Hope you feel better soon!

Oh. That's how my current symptoms started. I'm self isolating already but had assumed it was just a cold. I know it probably still is a cold, but still, reading that didn't make me feel more confident about it

LandOfAThousandJumpers · 16/03/2020 19:28

Thanks all! I appreciate the responses. Yeah I suppose I was looking for a bit of a hand hold / feedback from anyone who’s been ill. Apologise as my original post probably didn’t communicate that very well.

Probably and hopefully is nothing but was just a bit freaked out at work earlier by suddenly having an irresistible urge to cough!

No temperature, just a tickly, unproductive cough on my chest.
