Having to stay off but I think sinus infection?

So last week I had a really sore throat for 3 days, which developed into a bit of a cold and a cough but by a week later I felt good again... literally a day after feeling normal I woke up Friday with what felt like a new cold because it felt different? And my jaw and neck hurt and felt achy - still coughing here and there.

Come Saturday I felt awful, and have been in bed ever since, reallyyyy snotty and full of phlegm (sorry!) no energy, and really bad pain down one side of my face/jaw/teeth. Still coughing too but it’s not constant constant iyswim?

I still feel too unwell to go into work today anyway but after speaking to a few people including 111 and my work, they’ve advised me to stay off for the week.

Do you think this is the right thing to do even if my symptoms get better? I feel like I tick all the boxes for a sinus infection rather than coronavirus?

Yes it’s the right thing to do, if only for the peace of mind for your colleagues

Yes, right thing to do. You also tick several of the boxes for c-19 and it's important that people are seen to do the right thing so as to encourage others to also follow suit if they need to.

The problem is that nobody can be sure what you have got. It’s probably a sinus infection but without a test it’s impossible to say.
Look after yourself and I hope you feel better soon.
