Whatever you think of Mike Pence

God, you can’t help but wish he was in charge rather than the ongoing joke that is Trump, who has just delivered several minutes of rambling without saying anything useful or convincing. At least Pence sounds like he has a brain and some knowledge.

(And is that ridiculous orange on Trump daily applied makeup up? Why isn’t it done better, without the ridiculous white edges and eyes? I’d assumed it was fake tan ‘staining’.)

Trump is ill. No question. He’s slurring his words, completely incoherent, slow to speak, struggling to read. He didn’t take a single question and got out of that room as quickly as he possibly could. The woman standing behind him with the scarf over her shoulders looked so concerned the whole time he was speaking - like she was holding her breath just hoping he’d get through it. She looked/s totally different when Pence and this other guy were/are speaking.

It is only Trump that is making Pence look good.
Pence has a lamentable track record in public health as a governor.

Are you on crack OP? 😱

Whitney168 · 15/03/2020 22:00

LOL, it is a reflection on the idiocy of Trump, rather than support for Pence. It is just beyond credibility that the man is President.

Well, in all fairness: coming across as marginally less insane and more competent than Trump is really about in the metaphorical region of being less leaky than a colander. So ...

... I, for one, wish the USA weren't being led by a posse of madmen and dimwits.

JingsMahBucket · 15/03/2020 22:12

You DO NOT want Mike Pence in charge. He’s a shit show when it comes to public health and he’s literally one step away from the Handmaid’s Tale. He would switch the US over to a Christian fascist state at the drop of the hat.

My corona virus fever/wet dream is that both Trump and Pence get it then die leaving us with the competent Nancy Pelosi in charge. I SO want this to happen.

There’s no way Trump doesn’t have coronavirus. He’s been practically licking his hands after shaking hands with so many infected people in the last two weeks. He’s also been in confined spaces with diagnosed people like Air Force 1 and Mar-A-Lago. Plus his diet is atrocious and he’s in bad health. I think they’re lying about the results and this is his FDR-polio moment.

For those who don’t know, president Franklin Roosevelt actually had polio/lower torso paralysis for about 25 years, even while president but the press at the time colluded/collaborated with him to mostly disguise it from the public. He used a wheelchair and everything. This continued even through WWII. They wanted the public to have faith in the president/the presidency to lead them through a tough time. In Trump’s case, it would be his aides doing it and not the press this time around, I think.

My point is that I have a feeling they’re trying to skew results to insist he doesn’t have even when everyone around him magically does.

Mammyloveswine · 15/03/2020 22:23

I thought it was well known that Roosevelt had polio?

BrexpatInSwitzerland · 15/03/2020 22:30

There’s no way Trump doesn’t have coronavirus.

Oh, come on, don't be a tease! That's just mean!

Dongdingdong · 15/03/2020 22:40

Trump clearly has a super immune system as he didn’t catch it after close contact with that dignitary who then tested positive.
