Northern Ireland v Southern Ireland

Is anyone (especially those in border regions) absolutely perplexed at the stark contrast in advice from the British and Irish governments?

I'm in the north and I am getting more and more worried by the minute as news of regulations of school closures, pub closures etc trickle in. All island organisations such as the GAA have suspended all trainings and matches. Churches have cancelled masses, confirmations and communions. Weddings have been limited to 100 people to allow for social distancing.

Yet here we are, mere miles from each other going about our daily business in two completely different ways. Politics aside, I really believe we need an all island approach. By nature of living on an island we already have the means to control this. I am cared and unnerved at how our parties cannot agree on what to do, this is not a political issue it is a humanitarian one.

Lots of places who identify as Irish in Nothern Ireland are closing. If NI government refuses to lock down soon they'll have to set up a hard border to keep it separated.

Interesting, watching the NI Health Ministers questions and he just said that he has no intention of following Boris' herd immunity plan.

Excellent speech from Varadkar there, absolutely stepping up to the plate when his country need him the most.

I despair that we have Boris, his speech earlier was bumbling, he came across unassured and without conviction. An absolute lack of leadership. People are still unsure what is expected of them. Very worrying Sad

I think we will go in lockdown. DP works in electronic sales his commission is busting with the amount of customers shopping.
Teenager's are comfy as the risk is low still meeting in groups, I'm hiding hoping to avoid it with DP with the public all days it's hard. At 292 cases now I can't fathom what the UK is thinking.
