Started on Friday evening, sore throat, temp, headache and neck pain. Just started coughing today. Online advice to isolate for 7 days, fine.
DS (15 ) shares a room with him and is so far symptom less ( as are the rest of us ) and I will ring school for advice with regards to sending his older brother. I'm immunosuppressed and am due to have the flu jab on Monday am I right in thinking I should not go?

Apparently a sore throat isn't a symptom.

Jenasaurus · 15/03/2020 10:04

On a personal level I would keep both DC off school, the fact he is showing symptoms and shares a bedroom with his DB means its likely they both have it.

I am not sure what to advise regarding the flu jab, on the one hand it will give you protection from the Flu so you wont catch it and be more able to fight this virus of you also catch that, but as your DS already has symptoms you could already have it in your system and therefor the flu jab may be ill advised.

bloated some cases have claimed to have sore throats so not always the case.

The attached symptom list that was released by The WHO does list sore throat as a symptom.

Will give GP surgery a ring on Monday and go from there, was more concerned about wandering around possibly incubating said virus and spreading it as opposed to how the flu jab would affect me personally. Equally it could just be a run of the mill cold/flu virus given it's that time of year! Tricky.

You should all keep away from everyone outside the house for now.

SirVixofVixHall · 15/03/2020 10:28

You should all isolate surely ?

YoursTunbridgeWells · 15/03/2020 10:30

Gov advice is not for the whole family to self isolate.

bloated1977 · 15/03/2020 10:33

I'll stand corrected. I've seen so many charts about symptoms it's all so confusing Confused
