Elderly and medically vulnerable - what about their household members?

So if medically vulnerable and elderly are told to stay home for potentially 16 weeks.

what happens to people who live in the same house as an elderly or vulnerable person. Do they need to stay inside as well. Because otherwise they will just bring the virus back in.

I suspect Dd May come into the medically vulnerable category as she has an impaired immune system. But I don’t think my boss will be impressed if I say I’m not coming into work for 4 months even though I’m not sick and not in a category told to stay at home.

This has massive implications for the likes of asthmatics, diabetics and their families! What will other people do if you have such a person in their house?
