How many of you have (had) corona symptoms so far? Coughing-fever-aches

Since government stopped testing mass population, I think we will never know how severe the situation is.

Even if you have mild conditions, feel free to drop a line

Also will be good to hear from people who have recovered or had this virus with mild symptoms, this will help people with anxieties.

I thought my kids and I had viral tonsillitis but I’m starting to wonder as some articles have said about bad throats, headaches etc. I feel completely wiped out. I never usually get a fever when ill but I did on day 1. My kids who were ill first are now coughing. So maybe. Currently feeling like I’m being stabbed in the ear though. So maybe not!

nokia3210567 · 20/03/2020 23:56

I have had what I thought was tonsillitis with a cough but I am now unsure. I have been coughing since day 1 but it's a productive cough. Also have a very heavy feeling in my chest and had been particularly'burny' in the morning.

Dinosauratemydaffodils · 21/03/2020 00:32

I have had a temperature, a headache, a dry cough and chest pain with lots of random muscle aches. Despite being pretty fit, I'm now getting breathless going upstairs.

Dh had a temperature, an upset stomach and a cough for a bit but he seems fine now.

Dd has a cough and ds is fine. Dr SiL thinks from our symptoms and listening to me cough down the phone at her, that we have it but obviously no way of knowing at the moment.

QuacksInTheDark · 21/03/2020 00:40

I started Tuesday with tickly cough now and then, Wednesday was a fever 37.8 and cough continued more frequently also had a slight mucous sound when breathing and felt a bit ‘spacey’.
By Thursday fever was gone but cough now prolific, I’ve had a few coughing fits where I can’t stop and feel almost suffocated and panicked. No other symptoms so far just lots of coughing.
My worry is when I go back to work in two weeks, (nursery worker) what if this isn’t corona? What if I actually catch corona and have to go off again?🤦🏻‍♀️

Roostersmum2 · 21/03/2020 00:41

Yes but not the textbook symptoms. Everything I've had is a known symptom but not widely broadcast.

I've had diarreah with abdominal and back pain

A horrid metallic taste in my mouth that doesn't go away

Chills

Body aches and pain (legs and arms)

Dizziness in the morning

Exhaustion rendering me glued to the sofa all day

Loss of appetite

Now I have a pounding headache

I'm on day 2 of these symptoms and have been told that the respiratory symptoms begin around day 7 if it is going to progress. I hope not.

About 3 weeks ago, before any guidance was out, Ds1 had a high temp and had a day off school. If that had been this week we'd all have been isolated of course.
Around the same time I had some extreme tiredness. Literally falling asleep at 9pm, for about 3 days. Very unlike me. I also had some breathing discomfort while running, couldn't get my breath- put it down to running with Dh and going too fast, but I really couldn't get my breath.

Me and all 3 kids have had headaches, unusual for all of us. I've felt my glands swollen periodically, and ds1 complaining of tummy ache which again I suspect is swollen glands. Intermittent sore throat this week. Feeling like I need to clear my throat a lot, but only when I'm alone- if I'm talking or not thinking about it I don't do it. I run a lot and very rarely get ill but i do get exercise induced mild asthma (eg I produce a lot of mucous while I'm running and clear my throat a lot) and this seems exactly the same as that except I'm doing it all the time not just while exercising.

I am closely monitoring ds1 now. He had coughed a few times this morning and I can hear it in his voice.
I believe the headaches, sore throat etc can be symptoms of CV but not always, so I have just been monitoring us closely for changes. Certainly none of us are ill. If Ds continues to cough we will go into full isolation mode by the end of today and we've no plans to go out today anyway. the nhs site has guidance on what the cough would be like. It would be very interesting to hear what a 'confirmed mild' case actually presents as because it's not exactly clear. Once the antibodies testing is available I imagine people will be able to apply for one and see if they have actually had it but that could be a long time away?

My sister believed she and her dd have had it, I think she's felt very unwell, but her Dh has had no symptoms at all.

2 weeks ago, I started to feel "virusy", my chest felt as if it was red and sore inside, I was a bit short of breath when walking around and I had a strange taste in my mouth. I didn't have a bad cough although it felt dry and sore with pain/soreness under my rib cage and back. No snot or mucous at all.
I woke up in the night sweating which is unusual for me and asked my dh to open the windows as I felt so hot.

I then had a few days of feeling mildly achey, very tired and slight chills. My eyes were watery and my ds thought I was crying a lot!
I had spent time with a colleague who then self isolated due to her symptoms, another colleague had come back from Tenerife over the half term staying next to the hotel that was in the news.
If it was covid19 it was very mild but I guess I will never know unfortunately.

Bookworm83 · 21/03/2020 08:18

Yes I've had a raised temperature since Tuesday night and a sore throat since last night.
It doesn't help that I'm heavily pregnant Sad

Porcupineinwaiting · 21/03/2020 08:25

Rooster I think I'm 24 hours behind you. Sad

Elfschoolsucks · 21/03/2020 08:43

Last weekend I developed a fever and coughing.
Day 2, I had all over body aches, fever and coughing and spent all day in bed, it got worse at night with sweats coming over in waves.
Day 3, no fever, still aching and coughing and a headache but feeling a bit better due to the lack of fever.
Day 4, feeling chesty, coughing up mucus some of it stringy(sorry) and bad headache.
Day 5, a crackling chest means I am moving slower due to being easily out of breath. Feeling ok but scared as my chest sounds awful but still no fever.
Day 6, feels like I have swallowed glass, my throat is so sore I can’t speak. My lungs are so sore it feels like someone is squeezing them, this all improves as the days goes on.
Day 7, chest is clearing now, lungs feel better and not as breathless.
Day 8, pretty much back to normal now except my chest is still clearing.

The worrying thing is I don’t know if I had it or just another seasonal bug. My family will be remaining in isolation for another 7 days but I am able to leave the house as soon as my symptoms are gone.

Porcupineinwaiting · 21/03/2020 09:50

@Bookworm83 Flowers How many weeks are you?

Bookworm83 · 21/03/2020 09:58

@porcupineinwaiting 38+4

SheldonSaysSo1 · 21/03/2020 09:58

I'm on day 7 now, started with burning pain in centre of my chest last Saturday evening. Woke up Sunday with a dry continuous cough and continued chest pain. Since then I've had periods of a mild fever and exhaustion, with breathlessness upon walking.

Yesterday and today I've been a bit wheezy as my cough has become more chest resulting in huge coughing fits.

fadingfast · 21/03/2020 10:00

I’ve had chest tightness for about three days, but mild with next to no cough. Slight upper chest pain. Temperature is normal. Thought initially it was all due to anxiety, but now I’m just not sure.

user34254356 · 21/03/2020 19:22

@Elfschoolsucks I have seen a video issued by Singapore ministry of health with a day to day symptom breakdown. Your symptoms sound very very similar. Glad you are over the worst.

I can't seem to link the video as I received it on whatsapp.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 21/03/2020 19:45

@user34254356 @Elfschoolsucks there is a bbc special on right now and they've just said if you have a headache or a mucous cough then you probably don't have it? How can the information be so different from country to country??

Tartan333 · 25/03/2020 08:04

I woke up in the middle of the night on Saturday night with strong abdomimal cramps and diarrhoea. Sunday night/Monday morning, I woke up having had a night sweat (I never have them), then Monday morning developed a sore throat (felt swollen not scratchy). The sore throat had eased a bit yesterday but last night I woke up with another night sweat (not as bad as the first one) and during the night had more painful stomach cramps amd diarrhoea. These symptoms are unusual for me. I do not have a temperature and no cough, I feel a bit "out of sorts" but nothing terrible. I am wondering if it is coronavirus, has anyone had these symptoms and had a confirmed case? Google tells me that they can be symptoms.

Scoose · 25/03/2020 08:14

Nearly three weeks ago dd had a cough/cold but no fever. A few days later I started with a sore throat and then a cough which felt like I needed to cough something up but couldn't, it was so severe I was vomiting with it and felt like I couldn't breathe without another coughing fit starting I couldn't even speak without having a coughing fit. I had aches and pains and one night I was freezing and couldn't get warm, I was in bed with thick pyjamas, warm socks, my dressing gown and hot water bottle and still felt freezing. This went after a few hours. Then I had tightness in my chest and felt like I couldn't take a deep breath. Then I had very sore ribs which I put down to strain after all of the coughing. Now two weeks on the cough is still lingering but it's nowhere near as severe. I gave the odd day of feeling heaviness in my chest but am ok for the most part. I wish there was a test to prove if we've had it or not rather than waiting to see if we will be struck down worse!
