I thought all self-employed, freelancers, people made redundant and similar who are impacted by Coronavirus could gather here to share stories, tips on managing, etc.

I expect the thread to be quiet to begin with but get busier over the coming weeks.

Anyone else already impacted (like me) or seriously worried?

I think we should use this time to rethink travel, consumerism

@eeehbyegum I agree, but I don’t think it will happen. People are far too selfish and will not accept anything less than what they’ve become accustomed to.

All this is pushing me more and more towards my dream of having a self sustained house. Unfortunately I can’t afford much now and will be down to my last quid in couple of month’s time but I am trying to be sensible and have started to grow vegetables so the family doesn’t go hungry.

For anyone who is interested, my DS works for the local coop and his shop is taking workers on on temporary contracts urgently to cope with this, this is probably the case for all local coops. Might be worth asking/looking online.

How is everyone getting on? This is such a sad thread and I noticed no one had added to it once lockdown occurred.
DH and I both NHS (DH adult ICU doctor so right in the thick of it) so we are managing despite my hours reducing to fit with the key worker childcare hours.
We have kept on our kids music teacher to give Skype lessons and have carried on paying our cleaner to try and help them maintain some income during this horrible time.
I hope everyone is ok??
