Things that you know are nothing in the great scheme of things but still bother you more than you know they should.

I'm very concerned about how the illness will play out, how people will cope with a prolonged lockdown and how long it will take the economy to recover but I was knocked sideways by the realisation that the festival that DS2 has worked hard and saved hard for probably won't happen.

He's been getting more and more excited as all the "right" bands have been added to the lineup. I'll be gutted for him if it doesn't happen.

A concert being cancelled and very likely my long awaited hospital appointment to have my coil changed

Snufflesdog · 15/03/2020 01:45

I’m self employed and most likely out of work until this is over

It’s a big birthday for me in a few weeks so I probably won’t get to do much. My last big birthday was rubbish too.

There’s a few movies I was really looking forward to that have been postponed.

Can’t see my mum for Mother’s Day due to self isolating

Tiredemma · 15/03/2020 01:59

Was supposed to be going to Orlando on April 1st

Toybox88 · 15/03/2020 04:56

My cancelled holiday to lake garda in April

PNDventing · 15/03/2020 05:17

My last 6 weeks of maternity leave with my DD.

Losing the input of professionals (specialists and HV) who have been helping me manage my severe PND.

thatmustbenigelwiththebrie · 15/03/2020 05:33

Nothing I have planned to do has been cancelled, work is still open, and everything seems normal to me. Perhaps that will change though.

Mummyoflittledragon · 15/03/2020 06:20

Thought I was finally getting a small semblance of a life back after being imprisoned in my body and largely bedridden for 8 years. 2 major surgeries, chronic fatigue and pain. But no. I now need more surgery.

My plan was also to get our house ready to sell and move to a new place for a new start. None of this is going to happen now and it looks as if we will have to pay for the surgery too for I cannot go for month upon month of increasing pain, brain fog, difficulty to speak and risk of further complications.

But then if I go for the surgery in the peak of coronavirus, I risk my own demise. But if I don’t, well, my immune system is shot anyway. So I don’t know what the fuck to do.

toothfairy73 · 15/03/2020 06:24

Daughters school production they have been rehearsing for ages and we are due to go and see SIX beginning of April. She is obsessed with it and will be devastated

redcarbluecar · 15/03/2020 06:24

I’m taking my mum, who is in her 80s, to the theatre next week - her Xmas present. For a few reasons I can see that not happening.

HotChocolatemarshmallows · 15/03/2020 06:24

Baby classes

Outfoxed · 15/03/2020 06:28

Live in Sweden and have a few family members from the uk planning to visit over the next few weeks/months which seems unlikely to happen at this point. Massive disappointment because I havent seen my mum since august, but as shes asthmatic I will respect if she decides not to fly over even if she still technically can.

DinosApple · 15/03/2020 06:38

A girls trip to Italy almost certainly won't happen. No refund.

I may not get to a family funeral in two weeks (ill and self isolating).

I have a large Catholic family on one side, the older ones (who are the most religious) will be understanding but upset if Mass and the Easter services are cancelled.

Worry about MIL and GM (both 90s).

I suppose with lots of flights being restricted there may be a positive environmental impact.

Hairwizard · 15/03/2020 06:46

@collywobblescar
Shit the twins' christening is booked for 4th april! They will be 9mths old by then aswell. Ffs. Aswell i havent ordered shawls with name and dates on yet. Id not got round to completing my amazon order. All sitting in my shopping cart.

Hairwizard · 15/03/2020 06:54

Masses have started being cancelled in county tyrone. We are derry based. Just a matter of time.

bluechameleon · 15/03/2020 07:07

We have 3 family birthdays within 2 weeks and I'm sad those celebrations are cancelled. We also have a camping trip and a Center Parcs long weekend coming up in the next 3 months which may not happen.

bluechameleon · 15/03/2020 07:11

Also, DS1's Mother's Day assembly. My Mum went last year because I was working but this year it falls on my day off. I was really looking forward to it.

caffeinebuzz · 15/03/2020 07:16

I am coming to the end of a difficult pregnancy which restricted my mobility significantly. Was really excited to start getting out of the house again, and had quite a few things booked in May/June to look forward to. Including a holiday at the end of June which is looking unlikely to happen.

Frokni · 15/03/2020 07:18

Going to the gym after years of trying to sort my body out post kids and it's such a breeding ground I don't want to risk- am basically walking everywhere!

Mum who is 66 and has Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia can't go and do her big social things on her "well days"

Not working at present and am trying to get DD aged 2.5 into play groups with the 2 of us. Not happening now!

Alwaysoverthinkingit34 · 15/03/2020 17:29

That we were meant to fly to Orlando on Tuesday :(

purplerainpitcher · 15/03/2020 17:31

My daughter was supposed to be part of the voice in a million concert at wembley on thursday we were so excited to go and watch its become a tradition for my mum sister and myself as she does it every year But that's been "postponed" till may but I cant see all of this blowing over by then

BiBiBirdie · 15/03/2020 17:32

My wedding

It's looking more and more likely that either it will be postponed due to everything finally being in lockdown when the current plan goes tits up, or we may lose family/friends and not be in the frame of mind to do it.
It's taken nearly 20 years for DP to ask me and I feel like we jinxed the world at this point.

Toffiffeee89 · 15/03/2020 17:38

My daughter's wedding and my own a month after !

Mary54 · 15/03/2020 17:45

Was due to go on holiday on Thursday which has now been canceled. Mainly concerned about my 80+ mother in the UK who will go absolutely stir crazy if she is forced to stay home. She would really miss meeting people while walking her dog each day

souldivachakkakahn · 15/03/2020 17:50

My first child free trip in 6 years. Rome in April. Obviously we've cancelled.
DS (10) is due to go on a school residential to France in June. Highly unlikely to go ahead.
We've got a couple of big gigs booked in to see bands I've never seen and who rarely tour the UK.
Summer holiday; most of it was booked before this all kicked off. I'm
Still a teeny bit hopeful but also realistic. And the extra kicker there is that I've lost lots of weight recently (much needed) and was looking forward to actually feeling good in swimmers and shorts for the first time in years. Angry
I also work for the NHS so things are going to get really shit. Things like the above make my day to day job manageable, as I know there are things to look forward to. Fucking hell.

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 15/03/2020 17:51

Our Hamilton show is cancelled (Toronto) and another play we had tickets to. No idea when if ever we will be able to see it now. The DDs also had a choral festival in Montreal at the end of the month that has been cancelled. Gutted. We did a large amount of fundraising for it and I was supposed to be going as a chaperone.
