I've issued my first "God give me strength" moments that I'm not spending the next two weeks emptying and refilling the dishwasher.
What would you do to get through it?

I would deep clean my house. It's needed doing for ages. I'd also organise my garage and clean out my car.

Gaelforce · 14/03/2020 15:10

Will def do the car and get rid of lots of junk. DD2 studying for exams and DD1 arrived home from uni. It's eerily quiet out and about.

If anyone does end up on lockdown we need to write a song, perhaps to the tune of The 12 Days of Christmas.
On the first day of lockdown, I decided toooo....
Deep clean the ba-ha-hath room. (To fit the syllables to the music)
🤷

Are you in Spain?

Gaelforce · 14/03/2020 15:13

Ireland

I’d plan to really crack on with sorting out books to gift/sell, get CDs onto digital, and have a proper (and much needed) clear out of clothes.

In reality, I’d probably drink loads of tea, watch a lot of terrible TV/films, and spend way too much time on the internet.

I'm going to be so productive after I mumsnet and surf Grin

Binge on Netflix

Paint my living room ceiling

Wash curtains, basically deep clean the house

AnnieJ1985 · 14/03/2020 15:22

I have tidied the Hot Press.

These are strange times indeed.

SaltedCaramelEverything · 14/03/2020 15:59

Watch Marie kondo and Netflix and do the whole house
Write Christmas cards ready if you have any left over somewhere
Learn a language! Download an app - duolingo is good

Oblomov20 · 14/03/2020 16:17

Liking 'first day of lockdown' song! Grin

UtterlyUnimaginativeUsername · 14/03/2020 16:19

My hot press could do with some attention too, I went looking for a single fitted sheet this morning and the single and king piles were mixed up. The horror!

HunterAngel · 14/03/2020 17:17

Well the place could do with a really good clean.... May have to lock DH and DS in the other room while I clean.... In which time they’ve totally trashed the clean rooms....

Well I’ll have a shot at justifiable homicide anyway. Jail’ll be peaceful, might finally catch up on my to read list!

tiredanddangerous · 14/03/2020 17:23

In theory i would deep clean my house, sort through all mine and the dcs clothes for all the stuff that doesn’t fit, paint the hall and landing, and attempt to do something with my jungle of a garden.

In reality I will drink tea, eat biscuits, watch crap on Netflix and spend hours on mumsnet. All whilst supervising my dc, who will of course be completing lots of school work without any nagging or complaining Hmm

There was a lot of panic buying here on Thursday and I did buy extra food but nothing crazy.
The problem I've discovered is that I've been snacking all day with very little burning of calories. You really have to be disciplined and not treat it like a holiday.
the lockdown song might help with that - thanks cigars
