Is anyone considering a chicken pox approach?

I’ve not read anything about this and am curious to know if anyone is considering it?

I have a very frail, poorly relative so I’m being very careful as I wish to continue to visit them and so this is very much a hypothetical question.

But the reality is, if I didn’t have a poorly relative, in some ways it would be more convenient to be Ill sooner rather than later. I already have leave booked over Easter (and no plans) so a period of illness followed by leave to recover in the garden would suit me better than waiting to become ill and messing up the plans I do have in the summer.

I’m sure I don’t need to add that I’m not in anyway trivialising the disease, but I work with the public, have a child in school and an adult child in the house who is a Teacher. The likelihood of contracting the disease is high. Is it totally insane to want to get it over with?

I know what you mean. We're in isolation because DD has anew cough & had a temp, feels like we're waiting for the axe to drop on us, will we/won't we, we might have it but never know etc, in a way of rather get it over & don't with.

The government has unleashed a shit storm and this is where we are left. Fucking playing chicken(pox) with our lives. No I’m not tempted. I have chronic illness already, have had 2 major surgeries and need more surgery. I’m shitting myself. My will is in order at least.

It has crossed my mind. However I’d like to know a bit more about it when that information is available before making any decisions.

It’s interesting to see people’s views.

My view is that you are a fecking idiot of the highest order.

No health system in the world can cope with the coronavirus, they will be utterly overwhelmed. People WILL die, maybe not your people but do you want to be responsible for the deaths of anyone? Do you want blood on your hands? Wash your bloody hands.

Do not expose your children unless you are prepared to have their deaths on your conscience, or for them long term respiratory difficulties.

There is a vaccination for chicken pox. It will be some considerable time before we have a vaccination for Covid 19. In the meantime we should protect everyone by reducing social contact and washing our bloody hands.
