My son goes to a nursery which is not attached to a school. They are great and have given us a list of measures that they are taking to stop the spread of corona.
I have recently gone back to work from maternity leave. I have lots of holidays to take before April and so had booked the next 2 weeks off. Apart from 1 day in the middle where I would have to use my mum as childcare.
Should I take him to nursery for the next 2 weeks or not?
Pros to staying at home:
My dm looks after him and the baby when I work (part-time) she is over 60 but healthy. My DF is over 60 with many health problems, but will not self isolate, and the kids have 3 great grandmas. Taking him out while he is healthy reduces the risk of infecting them.
Cons:
Ds has been referred for assessment due to behavioural issues. He can get violent when over excited or angry and is going through a stage where he does the opposite of what he is told to and gloats about it. I have to restrain him physically more than I would like. I worry that with a teething nearly one year old and little sleep that I will end up lashing out at ds if I have him on my own for 2 weeks.
I have some paperwork for nursery to give them and they are so good I wouldn't want them to think I lacked confidence in them.
Dp and Dm say keep taking him. WWYD?
P.s. he is a really sweet, good at sharing, kind boy too.
