I haven't been too worried about getting sick as from what I've read as a fit and of reasonable health adult I should be able to manage properly. I don't know if this is a little naive though.

Does anybody know people that have had the virus and got ill ?

How Does it really affect people?

No and no. I had a viral infection a month ago with a very debilitating cough (barking like a seal) and mild pneumonia but this was before the official start of the outbreak. If I’d had it this week would definitely have assumed it was Covid-19. I was off work over half term so pretty much self isolated and stayed away from elderly relatives as we always do when we have colds and flu.

Difficult to know. I have friends (a couple) who have fever/cough, rapid onset. She is a NHS doctor. She has been asked to stay at home for seven days. She has been told she will not be tested.

So...it could be CV, but they may never know? Unless she is one of the infected for whom it gets much worse and she is hospitalised.

Yes, unfortunately/fortunately I work in an area in which we get notified as need to keep colleagues safe, most people who have it inform us, or the council form us.
