So, in return for all the charity money we've ever donated, where is the help for those who gave?

I've been thinking about this today, all the old people and ill, and vulnerable, some will die.

Why aren't all the rich celebs and tax dodging businesses donating money to staff and equip ICU.
This world fuckin stinks.

Well some are at Vancouver Island, still working out how to be richer....

I heard that some of the Sports Relief money is going to CV victims this year

CKoRn · 14/03/2020 00:04

There off saving their own arses. Obviously.

Charley50 · 14/03/2020 00:07

I've been thinking exactly the same thing. Why isn't Richard Branson and other super rich pledging to help? When HSBC offered mortgage holiday, why not specifically include buy-to-let mortgages and suggest passing the saving onto tenants with rent-holidays? Or why doesn't the landlord association suggest it?

Jack Ma has donated a million masks each to South Korea, Iran, Japan, Italy and the US. He has also donated testing kits.

Neome · 14/03/2020 02:28

It’s a good question.

I wonder if there is less of a fanfare of publicity, when people are doing these things, than there would usually be.

HoldMyLobster · 14/03/2020 02:28

Alibaba founder Jack Ma pledged 100 million yuan ($14.5 million) to "support the development of a coronavirus vaccine" on January 30.

Alwaysreadyforbed · 14/03/2020 03:33

actually, the rich and businesses ARE doing their bit but you seem to be conveniently ignoring it to suit your inverted snob agenda

charley50 · 14/03/2020 07:26

alwaysreadyforbed - it's great that some are; but it's hardly an 'inverted snob' agenda when the fact is that over the last few years especially, the super rich have got vastly, vastly richer at the expense of everyone else, of the infrastructure, the wages, public services, employment rights, cost of living etc. Too bloody right they should give some of their wealth back now.

Devlesko · 14/03/2020 11:40

I hadn't heard of any of these, it's good that some are helping like this.
But it needs to be directly to hospital beds, for now.
equipment and staff, so that the NHS won't have to choose who lives and dies.
Maybe, they aren't publicicing the fact very well, which may be a good thing, rather than gaining publicity themselves.
I just thought it strange I hadn't heard anything.

More beds and equipment very rich famous people, please.
