Is it safe to go to the gym?

I’ve recently re-joined the gym and just wondering how safe it is? Enjoying it and really don’t want to stop as determined to get back into shape and helps to clear my head. If I spray equipment before and after use (and wash my hands before I leave the gym) then do you think this means I’m at low risk from catching the virus?

I have 2 small kids and my mum lives next door. She’s in her 70’s but is healthy.

Really sat on the fence here and don’t know what to do.

What would you do?

I’m still going to classes that don’t use equipment - so Zumba etc. They are actively stopping classes early to make everyone wipe down.

But... no I won’t be visiting my parents anytime soon.

My gym has been busier than ever so far!

I amn't going ...will need to force myself to exercise at home.

Yoga/stretching is easy to do at h9me

I was thinking about filling milk bottles with soil to create some weights? ( nuts? )

Not sure about aerobic exercise though, dodgy knees mean running is less good?

We have stopped going to our spin classes and instead are running and riding our bikes. It’s actually loads nicer than being indoors.

I have switched from gym to swimming. I am hoping the chlorine is killing the virus and I swim in the morning so not packed. What’s people thoughts about swimming?

I want to isolate as much as possible but also stay healthy physically and mentally.

I’m going to carry on with my outdoor fitness class. They’re stopping partnering exercises and not bringing weight etc so it’s just a dozen or so people exercising together outdoors, not huddled together. Seems safe enough for now.

I’m not sure about my yoga class. They’re cleaning the mats and asking people to wash hands etc. I may go this week and reassess after that
