Worried if I have enough food

Not sure if this should go on this board or prepping board. As title says I'm worried if I have enough food and supplies due to coronavirus, especially as supermarkets are out of stock with certain items. All the pasta is out of stock with asda and tesco when I do an online order and no toilet paper in stock for the last week. How much food and essential supplies do you have at home?

I have enough for a month at least but I always do. It’s not as a result of CV, Brexit, etc.
Pasta doesn’t feature very highly in my store anyway as I’m not a massive fan.
Mine is mainly things like lentils, beans, couscous, chickpeas.
I’ve lots of frozen stocks and sauces and plenty of frozen veg from the garden over the last season.
I tend to pickle and preserve anything I can so although it may not be an exciting diet I’ll be ok I reckon.

We have enough food to last for two weeks, for 4 people. Plus can probably eke out another week with less exciting but still quite well balanced meals. Enough loo roll for about 4 weeks. One lot of sanitary products per woman. Smallish stock of chocolate/biscuits/snacks for morale. Meds/painkillers.

We won’t be getting much more than that - we’ll be able to tide ourselves over as necessary between food shop deliveries and so on.

I’m worried about this aswell. I can’t even afford to shop for 2 weeks. I am a single parent to 4 children. I’ve just done a Tesco’s shop and added all the basics range to my basket so hopefully that could last two weeks. I haven’t got enough toilet roll though and Tesco’s doesn’t have any.

We definitely don't have enough food Sad

I don't want to panic buy, but I think we need some more.

Try not to worry- the shops will maintain supplies.

The hardest thing is the cost all in one go, but you can get by on cheap things- UHT milk and oats are cheap and nutritious and still widely available.

We've bought tinned fruit that we usually wouldn't have, and extra baked beans. Everything else is the same as usual.

If you can get a little extra of the cheaper things, it will take you a long way.

Toilet roll-

Family cloths are cut up old t shirts or flannels. If you dab with them after a wee, they can just go in the normal wash. It reduces your usage a lot, especially if you are a family of girls.

We have just over 3 weeks worth,we normally do a monthly shop(we have for a few years now)my DH went and did our food shop yesterday at Lidl and the only thing he couldn't get was toilet roll but I got him to check one of the local shops and they had lots available so he bought 1 packet(the numpty)he's gone back today to buy a few more because there's 5 of us so 1 packet is not going to last 3 weeks.

Yes, the shops will maintain stocks. There might be some short term shortages but you will still be able to get plenty of food. The fact that those of us who are able to budget for it have already got a few weeks worth of food means that if things go a bit more shit for a bit longer, those who aren’t able to stock up will have more stock to choose from at that time.
