Trip to Warwick castle overnight. To go or not?

Hello!

I need some advice.

We've had an over night stay booked for Warwick castle for next week.
My eldest has been so exited since we booked it in January.

The castle website says still open and has a notice up about precautions for Coronavirus.

Chances are that it will still be open next week?
Would you still go if it is?

Yeah I'd go. Just be very careful and maybe even pack masks just in case? (More for reassurance of others than anything else)

Wear gloves, plenty of 80% alcohol hand sanitizer etc etc. Sometimes you have to take risks and it's only one night

In my opinion everyone with an ounce of sense should be practising social distancing now. That means not going out and about for the sake of it. Its Warwick Castle. It isn't going anyway. Delay it until a more sensible time.

I won't get the money back unless they decide to close so in a way I hope they do close.
It's £200 wasted otherwise.

DH says still go as it's mostly all outside really and then we could eat in our room in the evening.

God I hope all this gets better soon.

I wouldn’t. Warwick Castle is great, but you won’t enjoy it right now. I was there this week and the atmosphere is poor, and most of the good bits do require you to stand closely with other people - birds of prey, etc. You’ll miss a lot of it if you’re keeping your distance; and eating in your room sounds joyless. I’d save it for the summer; if it’s much better by then...

But I can’t see them closing unless they’re forced, either. It’s a very commercial place now.

I'd really love to go to Warwick Castle!

But at this moment in time I wouldn't.
I'd be unable to fully enjoy the experience and it just wouldn't be the same.

No.....

I know how hard it is. We've cancelled all group socials things for the foreseeable - it's hard - a big family get together next weekend has been cancelled, we all agree it's for the best, but it's still a bummer. We've cancelled local nights arranged at the pub etc too. We're really trying to socially isolate as far as possible.

I know someone who is cancelling her overseas wedding in April. I'm gutted for her, it's awful. But this is where we are now.
