DD has two birthday parties she is due to attend over the next two weeks. Would you still go?
She has health issues and has been quite poorly off and on since October. One of the parties is her best friends so I know her mother will be upset if I don't go.
So anxious about all of this Sad.

Nope, I have said to the invitations that we can’t attend. I know that children are rarely affected badly but it is responsible to reduce virus-mingling. I am glad to have any excuse to stay away from those places though and am more of a worry-wort than the rest of people i know, so am not representing the “it’s just a flu dahling” brigade.

I just know they'll be upset with us for not attending but I feel like it's a risk, I don't know.

We have my best friends sons birthday party at soft play this weekend. Anyone else and I'd be cancelling but I'm not letting them down.
We will go and then refuse any other invitations after that.

We’ve got 2 this month as well. I’ll be sending a gift and our apologies.

I wouldn't go to soft play. If it was a house party and they could go in the garden, it would be a different story.

If she’s vulnerable then no

HemlockStarglimmer · 13/03/2020 08:36

I would send a gift and my regrets.

It's a no brainer, don't go. If they know 'She has health issues and has been quite poorly off and on since October' and yet are 'upset' with you then they're inconsiderate idiots.

NoFruitTea · 13/03/2020 08:57

If she didn't have health issues, I'd still go. Not in your position.
