Just watched this and I’m even more concerned now. FFS.

It's not his job any longer, is it?

Gottheteeshirtandlostit · 12/03/2020 22:13

Agree. The whole of C4 news was terrifying. Unlike me, DH has been v relaxed about Corona but after Hunt's segment he announced that our kids wouldn't be going to school from tomorrow.

Dingadingdangmydanga · 12/03/2020 22:16

He... does. Sad

Fanthorpe · 12/03/2020 22:18

It was awful, lots of the people in charge seem to be sounding warnings.

Random18 · 12/03/2020 22:19

Or maybe he's just hoping BJ has got it wrong.........

Him and Stewart are playing political games. Maybe they do genuinely believe the govt are wrong but I suspect they are also trying to further there political careers.

He did want to be PM you know........

Random18 · 12/03/2020 22:19

*their

RJnomore1 · 12/03/2020 22:19

Nicola sturgeon was pretty wobbly earlier abd while I don’t agree with much of her politics she’s a polished public speaker abd usually shows conviction. I just felt nerves today.

MidsummerMeadow · 12/03/2020 22:21

I don’t know much about politics @Random18 but I think he looked and sounded pretty genuine there.

RJ but she is agreeing with BJ at the moment. Labour too.

Of course she's worried. We all are.

nellodee · 12/03/2020 22:22

"I'd like to see the modelling that really says that people are going to tire of social distancing in a national emergency of this nature."

Jeremy Hunt

nellodee · 12/03/2020 22:24

Me too, Jeremy, me too.

Never thought I'd say it, but I agree with Jeremy Hunt.

SirVixofVixHall · 12/03/2020 22:47

Herd immunity for Covid can surely only be achieved by killing huge numbers of people ?
I prefer the attitude of China, Hong Kong and Singapore, to actually try and stop this virus in its tracks.

BeijingBikini · 12/03/2020 22:54

He's not very good at maths - 5% of 5% of our population isn't 400,000.....that would make our population 160 million

StSaulOfSnacks · 12/03/2020 22:56

He always looks like that.

BeijingBikini · 12/03/2020 22:56

Oh wait, he said 150,000, nvm - it's late and I'm tired..

ContessaferJones · 12/03/2020 23:03

God, he does look scared, doesn't he Sad

LarkDescending · 12/03/2020 23:04

Following the news about the Arsenal head coach, the entire first team and coaching staff are self-isolating.

Club statement: www.arsenal.com/news/club-statement-covid-19

LarkDescending · 12/03/2020 23:05

^Sorry, wrong thread re Arsenal.

AnyFucker · 12/03/2020 23:05

That would be the botox

ginswinger · 12/03/2020 23:08

I feel we should stop waiting for the government to mandate on school closures, mass public gatherings and 'social distancing' and take the initiative ourselves.
Self isolate if you can, don't go to the pub, take the kids out of school and don't visit the immune compromised or elderly. Stay at home, check your neighbours have enough food and share with them if you can.

HairyFloppins · 12/03/2020 23:10

Maybe he's been reading the worried about coronavirus thread on here. I look like that after I have been reading it.

Supersimkin2 · 12/03/2020 23:10

UK pop is 66 m. 5 percent = 3.3.m

Govt panicking because the NHS can't cope and is finally being shown up as shit compared to other countries.

stuffedpeppers · 12/03/2020 23:17

Supersim - some of us work our arses off for the NHS - no country in the world has coped with this any better than another.

no one is prepared for it and the NHS is no better or worse than anywhere else.

Some of us on here are working on the front line right now and staring a 10% mortality rate in healthcare workers from corona.

So rather than call us all shit - support those people who are literally putting their lives on the line to save others rather than slagging them off.
Believe me no one is exagerrating it is shit.
