Cattarh or start of cv

I usually suffer from colds and cattarh been lucky enough to avoid the flu so the thought of this coronavirus is slightly scary

I've been washing hands at every opportunity avoiding touching face etc I've been out and about since cv first came out haven't really came into contact with anyone that's been ill or coughing etc

For ages now I've been waking up with a need to clear my throat and do bring up phlegm at times been going on for a while and I'm sure its nothing like cv but iam slightly worried

I'm thinking it's just cattarh should I be concerned?

Not sure I have the same but don’t feel unwell. Am wondering if it’s a bit of anxiety too.

Livelovelife35 · 12/03/2020 21:56

@BeardedMum I do have anxiety too which doesn't help and your mind goes into overdrive with over thinking.

I feel fine just cause all ive had is a need to clear throat and the odd phlegm but ive had that for ages now

I thought that wasnt one of the symptoms

unchienandalusia · 12/03/2020 21:58

Coronovirus is dry, non producing cough so if you have mucus it's doubtful.

Livelovelife35 · 12/03/2020 22:00

I'm not really coughing just feel the need to clear throat every now and again and it does feel like theres mucus there
Will just be overthinking as usual and worrying over nothing

I’ve got similar. Although it’s been a couple of weeks.

I haven’t travelled, don’t know anyone who has, nearest case is 15 miles away, so no reason to think it’s anything other than a cold.

idontlike789 · 12/03/2020 22:08

It's not one of the symptoms.

Livelovelife35 · 12/03/2020 22:13

Been like this for a while just normally in the morning I've really got to clear throat and does feel like theres mucus there have brung some up
I've been to Newcastle in feb and been out and about for work (home carer) been to shops for food shop etc
I dont know anyone that has it I know theres a few cases where I'm from (Scotland) but not sure on where to be exact. Think I'm just panicking and over thinking things I'm prone to cattarh though

OP - it’s a worry isn’t it.

I have anxiety, but don’t really suffer with health anxiety. I’ve been researching for our work policy and I think I feel worse the more I read about it.

In any case, even if you have it, you would likely be less unwell than with regular flu.

Livelovelife35 · 12/03/2020 22:26

@Redcrayons it is a worry especially cause of my mum and partners mum etc just when you hear all about it on social media news papers etc just makes you really think what if and could I have it and not know etc

I've never really had the flu before just colds cattarh and the odd sinusitis
