I think my son(s) have corona virus

My son came home from Loughborough university on feb 16 with flu. Bad bad flu. So ill he couldn’t go back for ten days.
My other son developed flu on 29 feb. Again bad bad flu. Bedridden for five days, weak and ill for a few more.
Due to the fact that a student at Loughborough had tested positive for corona virus on 3 March I called the GP and 111. Neither thought either of my boys needed to be tested.
Second son rallied and went back to college on Tuesday just gone but was sent home as coughing. He now has a chest infection and is on antibiotics and an inhaler. I have been advised he must self isolate for 7 days. But again , despite the positive Loughborough student, I am not required to get my boys or myself tested.
This concerns me, but I’ve no idea how to push for testing
In the meantime people have come in and out of the house
I’ve gone to work and first son is back at uni.
What to do ?

There seem to be a lot of people who have the symptoms but without travel abroad or direct contact with a positive, they won't test.

Nothing you can do unless they change the rules. All you can do is self isolate and wait, and call 111/ GP of symptoms get worse.

My DD is also a student at Loughborough and she told me (and that may not be 100% accurate) that the diagnosed student was one who came back from Italy and actually flew to Scotland where he lives and never visited Uni.

Nobody is being tested now, unless in hospital
