Teenage son in self-isolation - anyone else?

Ds (age 15 - y11), returned from his school trip to Italy late Monday night. While they were flying home Italy announced the lockdown. So in the morning we woke to the news that ds would not be going to school, and would have to self-isolate in our house for 14 days.

We are fortunate so ds has his own room, and can have his own bathroom. The younger girls will share our en-suite for now. He is eating and sleeping and staying in his room day and night he has been home 2 days and I still miss him.

He is waiting for the school to sort out some work for him, he is revising, he is coping really well so far.

But he is surely going to get stir crazy confined like that? I also wonder what happens if others in the house need to isolate there are 5 of us. I have stocked up in preparation for an extended quarantine but who knows what is going to happen?!?

Is any one else isolating one of their kids? Bloody tricky isn't it. I really want to give him a massive hug 😢

I think my 17 yr old son has corona virus. He is rather ill
I’ve watched a YouTube video of a young British man talking about how he survived it. His symptoms were exactly the same as my son.
The worst flu he had ever had. Then recovery. Followed by chest infection. (His turned into pneumonia tho. )
He caught the flu from his elder brother ten days ago who was home from Loughborough university really ill.
Turns out there is Loughborough student who has corona virus who was only removed from uni on 3 March. Lewis, my 21 year old came home ill on the 16 feb. You don’t have to know the person to get it, just be in the vicinity.
So despite calling the GP twice, getting antibiotics for the chest infection and an inhaler, calling 111... no one is interested in testing either of them . 17 yr old is in isolation now tho but I’m not. So I could be spreading it. What to do???

We had this in Nov.
DD heartbeat of 145 and temp of 39.
She was on IV with drugs.
The doctor said the sinuses headache was from not drinking enough, said use sports drinks, as they help.
Our last 3 days, then a week of feeling out of it. They checked for flu, it was present, and antibiotics were given for breathing.
I'd take your child to A&E.

Call 111. We self isolated after returning from Italy but 111 said if you have no symptoms you can resume normal life.
3 days at home with the kids was more than enough !

I hope you and your son's are ok choclover. I have now developed my own symptoms though it is not clear that it is Corona?!? I am now in self-isolation as well which is completely impractical with DH and 2 dds not in isolation despite repeated exposure to me before today. I have breathing issues and tightness in chest, elevated blood pressure, no temp / cough though. So I and Ds are isolated separately as I don't want to pass anything to him, DH is feeling rough so he surely has what I have but we are not currently being tested for covid as we don't meet the criteria. V frustrating but I am ill regardless so I want to avoid making anyone else I'll whatever I have.
