What sort of businesses will remain open do you think?

Obviously essential services would still operate.

Any other thoughts?

I'll be at work.

Look after adults with LD and they can't live independently.

Work will be business as usual for my colleagues and I.

The LightsideoftheMoon - same as me. I work in supported living with people with severe mental health issues. If my clients get ill we will still be expected to look after them. So business as usual for us too.

Probably follow Italy.

Nousernameforme · 11/03/2020 22:33

I saw something on buzzfeed (stay with me) about a reality tv.star who got convicted and sent to his home country of italy ( I know theres a word for it but I have a head cold and cant remember it)
He was being all big and brave saying look how no one else is brave enough to be out on the streets of Italy.
Then he had to put up a correction later saying he was only out in accordance with the law to get shopping go to work or see to family members.

So it seems that lockdown isnt exactly the house arrest I had imagined.
It's more of a essential trips only situation.

TangoWhisky · 11/03/2020 22:36

If you go out in Italy you have to sign a document that says you have to be out for good reason and if you put false information on it, you can serve up to 6 years in jail and if you go out for not a good enoigh Reason, you can be arrested for attempted murder!

I am self employed and work for letting agents, I expect they will close.

If we move to lockdown will that mean flights in and out will stop? What about people away on holiday, will they be able to get back?

We are in lambing season so essential for us would be vets, animal feed merchants and fuel stations (we need petrol for the quadbike to check the sheep).

We are very used to being isolated due to our rural location and often poor weather conditions so from Nov - April we usually have around 2-3 -weeks worth of food and essentials (toilet roll, paracetamol, firelighters etc) ready to use if needed.
