Can I move house?!

Due to exchange on our house this week and probably move in 2 weeks time.
What happens if we are on lockdown when we complete? Will completion be postponed or will we be able to just move anyway?
It’s only just dawned on me this evening.

Im due to exchange and complete today, but the buyers solictors give me very little hope it will happen they were awful even before all of this so all depends on if they can be bothered to do the completion now they have an excuse to do nothing!! My only hope is the buyers money has been transferred so they would have to return that, so I await holding my breath. it will be a very very ruff few months financially if we don’t complete.

My removals firm have packed everything up today but can't make any guarantees for moving us on Monday. 😫

Right so we won’t be exchanging and completing today maybe tomorrow.. most of the local banks are closed now fortunately the moneys in!
The solictors will only do a same day exchange and completion due to possible completion delays .l( Advise from the law society, so they say)

Has anyone had any news? Our solicitor seems to think a lockdown wouldn't necessarily stop us moving - I'm not sure if she's clutching at straws or not though.

Was meant to exchange last Thursday and complete this Thursday. I had a phone call from the solicitor to say we would now exchange and complete on the same day due to the current situation. So we are now due to exchange and complete on Thursday. I did ask if we could do it sooner but apparently mortgage funds are requested for next Thursday and they can't change it. It's a chain free sale, the house is empty and we are in rented.

I am panicking! Thursday can't come quickly enough, I'm worried it won't happen and I'm also worried we won't physically be able to move.

We just moved to new flat last week. Did all the packing ourselves, with bin bags, bcuz the cardboard boxes got stuck in warehouse forever...

@snaxinyourslacks we're in exactly the same position but I think Boris' announcement tonight has put a stop to our move for now.

@OutComeTheWolves we were planning on giving notice on our rental the moment we had our keys. That would give us a month to do any work on the house. I don't care about doing the work but I can't afford rent and mortgage together for endless months.
