Coronavirus and T2 diabetes

Is there anyone out there who can tell me how having T2 diabetes affects if I get coronavirus. I've googled and whilst there is a lot of information about T1 there doesn't seem to be anything specific to T2. Being a bit selfish I want to know and understand how it will affect me.....

I take medication (metformin) for my diabetes and had that cold before Christmas that I couldn't shake (like the majority of the population Grin) so was that a side effect of having diabetes as generally I feel quite well.

I work in a pre-school with children aged 2-5 and have heard that they are classed as super spreaders and don't get the illness quite as bad as others so have implemented rigourous hygiene practices (as much as you can with 2 year olds.....) which is where I am off to now.

Hope somebody can shed some light on this for me.
