I want to go away at Easter.
Would you book a holiday now?

I’ve already got a holiday booked, but am awaiting to see if airports etc get closed.
Where did you want to go?

Chocolatedaim · 10/03/2020 14:04

I was going to book Paris but decided to wait...it’s a tough call with kids in tow. If it was just me and DH I wouldn’t bat an eyelid

France and Spain in autumn this year. & I'm just back from South America and Caribbean.

I take sensible precautions and won't be restricting my life due to media wild reporting on a virus.

A friend has been teaching English in China for 4 years. Returned here on Saturday, came through UK airport no questions asked of him or anybody else on flight, no testing. & he taught in the next town to where outbreak started. Yet media and FB would have you believe China is on a lockdown.

But anyway it shows staying at home is no less a risk so you may as well just live your life.

Grufallosfriends · 10/03/2020 14:09

No

That's probably when Europe has its peak in terms of number of cases.

nagynolonger · 10/03/2020 14:11

I wouldn't go abroad at Easter. Maybe not even in the summer.

Lots of the cases we have are from people going to Italy in February. Our nearest cases are students who went skiing. They can be excused for not knowing the consequences but no one should add to our problems just to have a holiday.

Many families rarely go away and it won't hurt anyone to hold off for a few months.

ltk · 10/03/2020 14:15

No. I wouldn't.

Humina · 10/03/2020 14:16

No. Likely to be a peak in cases. You might even have it by then.

Poppydaisies · 10/03/2020 14:17

No, definitely not.

I'm surprised that so many people are putting their wish for a holiday above the potential health risks to themselves and more importantly, vulnerable people in our society.

ilovesooty · 10/03/2020 14:20

I had 3 booked before this occurred but the first isn't till June and I hope I'll still be going.

PennyGold · 10/03/2020 14:36

I'm going away at Easter booked before it all started but I'm very much planning on going, unless they stop flights to that country.

MotherOfAllNameChanges · 10/03/2020 15:41

If it's going to be everywhere anyway by then then what does it really matter where we are?

(Obvs providing that the flights are still being allowed in/out of the country)
