They've both had the lowest jump in weeks.

I think Boris will start with the over 70s today... Maybe it needs to be a stronger start to nip this in the bud now?

Can you post where you’re getting the data that people in their thirties with no healthy conditions have died from it?

If ski resorts and tourist attractions are closed in Italy, hopefully tourists won’t go. And the government has finally advised against non essential travel to most of Northern Italy. They really should have done this as a long time ago.

@ ShanghaiDiva it’s entirely possible but we won’t know until restrictions are lifted. The chinese have closed the majority of their temporary hospitals already so they must be not expecting another spike which is interesting.

And no, I don’t think they’re lying about the figures?

AlternativePerspective · 09/03/2020 09:20

@ youkiddingme and you only have to look at the attitude to carers on here to see that people very much have the view that carers should be working.

Everyone talks about closing schools but allowing provision for essential workers, so as long as you have the money and can afford to take a few weeks off work then you’ll self isolate, but if your local delivery guy or worse, the NHS staff have to do the same then those people will be the first to complain that services aren’t available.

Where I live flower marker is open, some shops have extended their opening hours, non residents eg cleaners for private households allowed to enter the compound so slowly slowly...
Dd’s School is still closed.

"we have to accept that many people are unlikely to do as they are told"

It's not just financial hardship causing this

So many posters saying they can't keep their kids - or their dog - cooped up,
or that they or their DH must have their daily jog
