Hand sanitiser needs to be at least 60% alcohol!

There's no "anything is better than nothing", alcohol free anti-bac "kills 99.9% of all bacteria" will not work against Coronavirus.

Soap and water is of course the best thing to use. But if you can't access that, using anything less than 60% alcohol gel will do nothing to help you avoid Coronavirus. Please don't lull yourself into a false sense of security.
Don't touch your face etc and follow all recommended precautions. That is all you need to do.

Pretty sure everyone already knows this given there’s about 8,000 threads discussing it 🤷‍♀️

GreenTulips · 08/03/2020 14:49

Can we just drink the alcohol instead?

That should work?

Frankiecandle · 08/03/2020 14:53

Why hasn't anyone told us this before? /s

GreenTulips · 08/03/2020 14:55

I think it’s quite obvious the only survivors will be regular drinkers.

LidlDonkey · 08/03/2020 14:57

It's driving me insane, this stock-piling of Carex. It will do nothing that soap doesn't do. Why are people so ignorant??

Gosh, where did you hear that. I am sure that no-one else knew.

I blame the national curriculum.
If in doubt blame a teacher- the mumsnet default position.

Thesispieces - What's it got to do with the national curriculum?

Rosehip10 · 08/03/2020 15:23

You are resurrecting every hand sanitiser thread since March for your advertising

DarceyDashwood · 14/10/2020 10:25

Wondered why all the zombie sanitiser threads were suddenly active again 🤔

StarCat2020 · 14/10/2020 11:57

I never thought that anti-bacterial hand stuff was going to do a virus any harm (without the alcohol) but thanks for reminding me!!

Yeah. We are to blame for literally everything. Sorry about that
