To be worried about driving into Europe in a few weeks (virus)

Not a worry about catching it, but I’m worried about getting stuck by travel restrictions being imposed. I’d drive France/ Belgium/ Germany and it’s about. 4 day trip.

I’m starting to get nervous about areas being quarantined or the ferry being stopped! Is that silly? Just every day the panic seems to grow.

Not that silly but actually closing boarders within Europe is almost impossible so thats unlikely and the virus is already in the UK so stopping ferries/eurotunnel would be incredibly disruptive but do little to stop the spread so it's pretty unlikely. There might be disruption to the longer ferry crossing tho, just to try and limit infections on board the boats

It may be a tricky decision and not clear. We're due to fly to Germany at Easter to see family and sightsee. Same as you, concerned more about the disruption and risk of getting stuck, than actual illness. Imagine we will have to take a chance in gut feeling just beforehand or if we cancel get no money back. I'm just going to wait as it changes so fast. Hope your trip works out.

Same here but smaller towns shouldn’t be an issue esp if driving

I can’t say if you’re actually BU but I’m not leaving my county until this all stabilises because what if we end up with Italian style quarantines here and I’m out on a day trip.. I might not be able to get home!

It’s the Italian style quarantines which made me nervous yes, though I guess you’d have some warning. I have visions of driving across Poland/ Germany/ Belgium in one hit to race for Dunkirk (possibly over thinking)
