Why empty the shelves of ibuprofen and paracetamol?

I’ve been 3 times this week to my local Aldi and Tesco and the shelves are bare for these? I understand people want an extra supply but I would really just like a couple of tablets for pain now. I don’t want to have to bother a gp for something so minor, but what else can I do if people have bought all?

Can you try the chemists in your town? Unless your GP has its own dispensary then if the chemists don't have any pain medicine your prescription won't be able to be fulfilled anyway.

Such a frustrating situation.

I know my go can prescribe double strength ibuprofen @HollyBollyBooBoo, I’ve had it before. I don’t need it now and don’t want to ask, it’s not over the counter stuff. But it’s silly when I could buy it cheap.
