Food banks and the implications of Coronavirus

Listening to the amount of people saying they won’t get help/pay from their work if self isolation is required, I think there could be increasing pressure on food banks in the next few months. If you’re doing a stock-up shop for yourself, could I ask you to put a few extra tins into the food bank as well if you can possibly afford it? I think many people could go hungry without this support.

ITA. I’ve been doing this with each big shop I’ve done, it’s a real concern of mine

If you stocked up for Brexit, it’s worth having a sort out too. I sent 2 bags of stuff to the food bank that had short dates but still in date recently. That was before Covid but my stash all has 2021+ dates now.

Excellent point. Will do.

It would probably also be worth donating soap and cleaning supplies right now
