A couple were on a flight yesterday back into the UK. Wearing masks. Taking photos of themselves with masks on flight.
So far, so cautious, perhaps. Many might do the same. Yet along comes the air steward with their meals. Masks come off, meals tucked into. Then masks go back on after meal...
...seriously? Are people actually thinking that the virus only attacks between meals? Or is this per my title, and the impending crisis is bringing out the usual attention seekers?
Elsewhere folk are posting pictures of heaving kitchen cupboards and infection prevention supplies, with the hashtag "preppers". Again, good on you for being safe, but really - why the need to boast that you managed to buy up the last three bottles of Cutan?
And while we're at it - what's with the smugness of the word "preppers" I ask? A term designed to make the individual concerned feel both self-satisfied at their (hardly remarkable) foresight, and also weed out those who haven't prepared, in order that the prepper can give them a good telling off.
We have a larder of stuff, but I have no desire to photograph it and share it. I don't need people to see me wearing a mask (and then ineffectually use it anyway).
AIBU to think it's really bringing out the attention seekers?
