The money was offered by 9 of the board member countries: UAE, Kazakhstan, Morocco, Bahrain, Qatar, Azerbaijan, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait & Uzbekistan.
Indonesia, Morocco, Kazakhstan, Kosovo & Albania pledged to send soldiers, who will initially be deployed in Rafah.
Egypt & Jordan committed to train police.
Trump also announced the US is donating $10 billion dollars.
About 50 countries attended the meeting as observers, including the UK, Germany, Italy, Norway & Switzerland. Many countries including the EU have so far refrained from joining the Board mainly due to concerns that it was designed to sideline the UN. In an effort to address these concerns, Trump said that, “we’re going to be working with the United Nations very closely, we’re going to bring them back”.
Trump said it “looks like” Hamas would disarm, though the evidence for this is unclear. Netanyahu commented that Israel has agreed with the US that, “there will be no reconstruction of Gaza without the demilitarisation of Gaza”.
