Gaza hospital used by militants

The international humanitarian group Doctors Without Borders has publicly acknowledged that armed individuals — many of them masked — were present inside the large compound of Nasser Hospital in southern Gaza, citing intimidation of patients, arbitrary arrests, and suspected weapons movement as reasons for halting some of its work there.
The admission, buried in a rarely referenced FAQ page on the group’s website published last month, lends factual support to claims long asserted by Israeli authorities about the use of medical facilities by Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorists during the ongoing conflict in Gaza.
Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), which is French for Doctors Without Borders, said it has suspended all “non-critical medical operations” at Nasser Hospital as of Jan. 20, 2026, citing “concerns regarding the management of the structure, the safeguarding of its neutrality, and security breaches.”
MSF’s admission was first reported by independent analyst Salo Aizenberg.
In describing those “security breaches,” MSF stated that patients and its own personnel observed “armed men, some masked, in different areas of the large hospital compound … not in areas where MSF has activities.” It added that since the most recent ceasefire in Gaza, teams have reported a “pattern of unacceptable acts,” including the presence of armed men, intimidation, arbitrary arrests of patients, and “a recent situation of suspicion of movement of weapons.” The group said such conditions posed “serious security threats to our teams and patients.”
The hospital in Khan Younis — one of Gaza’s largest and, until recently, few functioning referral centers in the densely populated territory — has been a flashpoint in the Israel-Hamas war since early 2024. After intense battles and an Israeli military operation that searched for hostages inside the complex, the hospital was rendered non-functional and later reopened.

Not surprised. The founder of Palestine Action is now in Iran supporting their regime, which has just carried out a genocide

Seeingadistance · 14/02/2026 13:29

Now there’s a surprise. Not.

Well I never!

A bit of tumbleweed around here....

The judges described Palestine Action as “an organisation that promotes its political cause through criminality and encouragement of criminality”, a definition seized on by Mahmood. But they found that, as such, most of its activities could be dealt with by criminal law, and did not amount to terrorism – meaning that proscribing the group could not be justified given the interference with protected rights.

Have MSF confirmed if they are Hamas or are one of the four armed militia groups Israel are supporting?

It’s always Israel’s fault in your eyes whatever shit is happening in Gaza or who is dishing it out.

The thread title is no surprise to those of us who don’t automatically disbelieve anything the Israeli authorities say @HappyFace2025

I guess the pro Pals will believe it now MSF are saying it - though still find a way to criticise Israel for it not the actual militants moving weapons around & intimidating patients.

Exactly. I’m not surprised MSF backed out of sharing data. Increasingly unstable since the ‘ceasefire’.

Israel-backed militia groups potentially threaten new peace plan for Gaza

An official with a major aid agency operating in Gaza said they had not “heard from the de facto authority” – a euphemism for Hamas – since March and were now dealing with a “variety of different actors”.
“In the north there is nobody in charge, in the central area there are some really powerful families and some small informal militia … and in the south you have formalised Israeli clients who get weapons and so on from the Israeli military,” they said. “Law and order is deteriorating, the social fabric is falling apart and people are really desperate and in survival mode and it is becoming everyone for themselves.”
Many such armed groups have a record of looting aid or extorting protection payments from humanitarian organisations as well as from other Palestinians living in Gaza.

Dagda · 14/02/2026 23:11

Do people think this justifies all the attacks on healthcare facilities or something?

Justifies that a majority of hospitals and health care units were attacked. Justifies the 1,700 health care workers who were killed

Does it justify the delay in the delivery of critical health care equipment I wonder? Or the fact that many basic medications are still not available.

And for years the same posters are saying organisations like MSF are just making stuff up to smear Israel.

Martymcfly24 · 14/02/2026 23:23

Agree @Ellen2shoes . The situation is completely unclear and obviously the identity of these militants currently is not known.

@dagda it shows in the facts linked in the OP that MSF reported these militants promptly and were not working with them despite the persistent smear campaign against them.

Twiglets1 · 15/02/2026 06:57

MSF are banned from working in Gaza from March 1st anyway, which could be relevant to their decision to speak out now.

From OPs source:

The Algemeiner has previously documented claims acknowledged by the Palestinian Authority that Hamas summoned Gazans to the Nasser compound for interrogations and that militants threatened hospital staff.

Terrorists from both Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad, an allied group in Gaza, have confessed that they took over hospitals across the enclave, using the medical facilities to hide military activities, launch attacks, and hold hostages kidnapped during their Oct. 7, 2023, invasion of and massacre across southern Israel.

In the FAQ disclosure, MSF did not explicitly identify the armed men or link them to specific groups. But by reporting the presence of masked fighters, intimidation of civilians, and suspicion of weapons movement within the hospital compound, MSF’s account aligns with Israeli officials’ long-standing narrative that medical facilities have not been strictly neutral zones.

At least they are acknowledging that they were where people thought they were now.

Yes, it’s a report in their FAQs on the website. I’m not sure why this is framed as an admission or why it is assumed that reading a report in a list of FAQs requires a degree of sleuthing:

‘MSF’s admission was first reported by independent analyst Salo Aizenberg.’

The link to the Guardian article above is from September 2025. The situation for humanitarian workers must be as terrifying now as it was before the ‘ceasefire’.

Aizenberg (@Aizenberg55) on X

🚨CRITICAL: MSF now admits Gaza's Nasser Hospital is filled with armed men and used for weapons movement. This was obvious all along—yet fake NGOs, UN and most media denied it. Multiple hostages say they were held there, not treated. Hospitals were all...

Link to the poster’s X was unintentional. Not sure why the link to the X account from quoted post wouldn’t detach from my post.

I agree, I'm still waiting for the gotcha moment.

It's not clear who the militants are Hamas (which no one has denied they could be) or Israeli supported militia.

MSF reported this to the authorities and publicised it and are clearly not in kahoots with them (long accused of this by the Israeli government). instead are bring intimidated by them.

It doesn't prove any Israeli narrative.
Far more concerning is the amount of Humanitarian workers killed or doctors refused entry.
