Conflict in the Middle East
Bigminnie1 · 19/10/2025 12:46

Sadly, because they are horrendous terrorists who want to destroy Israel and give no shit about anyone and especially not their own people . I wonder how long it will take for the blame on Israel to begin…
Will we see the pro Palestinian marches out protesting against Hamas? I won’t hold my breath.

Sequinsoneverythingplease · 19/10/2025 12:47

Look at the headline once you click through though, if you don’t dig into the written piece, and many don’t, you’d be forgiven for thinking it was a totally unprovoked attack by the Israelis on poor old Gaza yet again. The Guardian is useless.

SalmonOnFinnCrisp · 19/10/2025 12:51

Fucking typical guardian - i am not even Jewish and the latent antisemitism makes me want to screaming!!!

Why the fuck is the Headline
"Reports of Israel airstrikes on Rafah as Gaza ceasefire deal comes under threat"

Instead of
"Hamas attack Israeli soldiers threatening ceasefire deal"

From their own article...Hamas militants emerged from tunnels in the Rafah area and shot at Israeli soldiers in the morning, prompting a firefight

SharonEllis · 19/10/2025 12:59

Come on, Hamas don't want peace. They don't care about civilians, they want to provoke Israel and a lasting peace would pull the rug from under them.

MissyB1 · 19/10/2025 13:01

Israel have been attacking Gaza again for days. There hasn’t really been a complete ceasefire. I predicted Israel wouldn’t be able to stop themselves.

Oh for god’s sake. Enough of this shit. If Hamas attacks then Israel have every right to attack back.

I used to have a subscription to The Guardian until about a year ago but cancelled it over their overly biased reporting on Gaza.

They can send their little begging messages forever as long as I'm concerned, no more money from me since they have displayed a real lack of journalistic integrity.

Edited to add - I'm not Jewish either but it makes me mad too!

Sadly Israel is addicted to violence and they’ve breached the ceasefire by shelling innocent families and backing rival militias. The current state of israel has no appetite for peace whatsoever. They will need to have a complete change in regime to even consider this. Oppression creates hate so if Israel want peace the Palestinians need their home back as well their security.

Hamas were the instigators of this AND broke the ceasefire...

Yes...A regime change is needed...by Palestine....who are run by a globally acknowledged terrorist organisation.

To be clear get Israel arent the heroes by a long stretch but the notion they are the villians os simplistic and misguided at best.
Hammas have a lot to answer for.

I was surpised to see an emicated and straved palestian man in the press a few months back as I'd noticed all the emaciated Palestinian victims of famine were women and children... upon reading the article i realised I was still yet to see one as it was in fact an Israeli hostage...amazing how hamas are able to feed SOME of it's male citizens and not others

Unfortunately for you you’re in the minority with that opinion. Israel is lucky USA values it as a proxy because otherwise no one has the appetite for the grave crimes against humanity they have committed. Even Britain has had to recognise Palestine as a state. Anyway these threads are all the same.

Thank you Hells I was getting cognitive dissonance reading that post.

Each side is equally guilty of breaking the ceasefire.

Isn't Rafah inside the yellow line?

Israel's statement makes it clear that the IDF troops were there to dismantle terrorist infrastructure - by which I think they mean the tunnels. This was allowed under the term of the peace plan.

Earlier today, terrorists fired an anti-tank missile and gunfire toward IDF troops operating to dismantle terrorist infrastructure in the Rafah area, in southern Gaza, in accordance with the ceasefire agreement.

In response, the IDF has begun striking in the area to eliminate the threat and dismantle tunnel shafts and military structures used for terrorist activity.

These terrorist actions constitute a blatant violation of the ceasefire agreement, and the IDF will respond firmly.

These skirmishes always happen. It’s why it’s so important to get the peace keepers in there to keep them from ballooning again.

@BluntPlumHam ’Unfortunately for you you’re in the minority with that opinion.’

Wrong again. Come out of your cave. Ceasefire is in. Hamas are showing themselves in their true colors.
It’s a little more difficult to tug at the heart strings when it’s just Hamas vs the IDF. When Hams don’t have civilians to sacrifice.
