IDF to place physical markers along "yellow line"

On Friday, the Defence Minister of Israel instructed the IDF to place physical markers along the "yellow line" in the Gaza Strip, to more clearly mark the boundaries of the military’s control.

Katz said the markers will serve as a warning to “Hamas terrorists and Gaza residents that any violation or attempt to cross the line will be met with fire.”

The IDF has killed several Palestinians in recent days, saying that by crossing the yellow line, they posed a potential threat to Israeli troops.

An image published by Katz’s office shows markers similar to the blue barrels that mark the UN-recognized Blue Line between Israel and Lebanon.

Very sensible. I'm sure everyone can see its a good idea and will save lives.

Yes. It seems the "stationed tanks and the armoured vehicles right behind the imaginary yellow line" and soldiers shouting are not a sufficient disincentive, so it's good that there will also be physical markers of the line.

The quote is from Al Jazeera but they also say that the yellow line was "created by the Israeli military" whereas to be more factual, the line was created by the peace plan that all relevant parties signed.
