Conflict in the Middle East

Feel like once the fighting stops, Hamas will start killing Palestinians to stay in power

The other thread concentrates on the IDF but ignores Hamas.

Currently Hamas are killing any Palestinian people who are in opposition to them. They look like they are aiming to stay in power so much of the same cycle continues. I'd assume 🤔 most want Hamas to go? A more moderate Palestinian governance is needed and 2 states with peace for both.

Why aren't the Arab states in the middle east offering peace keeping? Why leave things to others?

Trump says if Hamas dont go it will get violent.

Who to get rid of Hamas?

Why not Arab Muslim nations?

Westerners do it = mass condemnation

Israel do it = rise in antisemitism and condemnation

Palestinians either cannot (any opposition to Hamas gets executed by Hamas) or some Palestinians don't want Hamas to go = more terrorist attacks on Israel and cycle continues

Arab Muslim nations = whos going to condemn them. Why WON'T they step up and help a fellow middle-east country? Why is it left to.orhers? Don't they have soldiers who could uphold peace.

Its easy to moan about whichever country or countries try.

There’s a flaw in your thread title. For Hamas to “start” killing Palestinians it would have to have stopped doing so at some time.

Hamas has always been a murderous organization but as long as it’s Palestinians killing Palestinians nobody cares.

You are correct, my mistake. Unfortunately, I cannot amend the title.

Sadly I think this will be the case. It’s going to be too complex to impose a new government in Palestine. As long as the violence is contained within then I think neighbouring countries will wash their hands of the issues. I feel sorry for ordinary Palestinian citizens who now want to rebuild their shattered lives.

inamarina · 15/10/2025 13:05

I’m afraid, I agree… I just don’t see how Hamas can be realistically removed.

Bigpinksweater · 15/10/2025 13:06

Of course they will. Does a bear shit in the woods? They know there will be some kind of election forced upon them as the global spotlight expects ‘change’ now the war is over, so they will kill all competition in the meantime. This is what their ‘self autonomy’ looks like - this is what the Palestine mob wanted 🤷‍♀️

Lolapusht · 15/10/2025 13:25

Hamas is not going to be removed.

They’ve got US backing to “take back control” in Gaza. This means revenge killings and torture against those they think have crossed them. Mr Fafo was killed in one such clan killing spree. I think over 20 were killed?

Imagine for a moment that Hamas is removed from power (absolutely not going to happen as they’re embedded within the power structures of Palestine and they are not going to give that up nor the money. They’ve also got too much support), there is no peaceful, moderate Palestinian party or group. All of the options want Israel gone (and that doesn’t mean allowing t live quietly within a Palestine controlled area, it’s means the death of every Israeli and anyone associated with them).

Not sure how that is going to foster lasting peace but it seems to be overlooked by quite a lot of people. Makes sense now that we’ve got a ceasefire people are now protesting for and end to colonialisation and and end to apartheid 🤔

This is one of the most unforgivable thing about the Free Palestine crowd. As bad as the war was, while the IDF were there Hamas couldn’t operate as widely as it used to. Now they’ve left, Gazans have been thrown to the wolves. It’s going to be a bloodbath the true extent of which we will never know because Hamas controls the figures.

TheBeaTgoeson1 · 15/10/2025 13:31

Of course, but will people still protest?

No doubt they’ll blame Israel

Just listening to someone talking about the hostage who isn’t Israeli who’s been handed back. Israel’s fault. Israel was bombing as was confirmed by released hostages so it’s all Israel's fault they haven’t been able to keep track of the bodies they either stole or murdered in captivity.

Excuse my language, but f*cking wankers!

How are they going to build a country when they can’t do anything without blaming Israel for what they’ve done?! You cannot create anything if you blame external entities for your situation.

PS it shows up to the point of the public execution on the streets of Gaza by Hamas. It doesn't (thankfully) show the actual execution.

President Donald Trump issued a clear warning about the violence on Thursday.

"If Hamas continues to kill people in Gaza, which was not the Deal, we will have no choice but to go in and kill them. Thank you for your attention to this matter!" he posted on Truth Social.

Asked at a press gathering whether he meant that U.S. troops could be involved, Trump said, "It's not gonna be us. We won't have to. There are people very close, very nearby that will go in. They'll do the trick very easily but under our auspices."

Icanthinkformyselfthanks · 17/10/2025 16:07

@Ihatetomatoes , I believe they already are but oddly there don’t seem to be any marches to protest against this…
