Horrible as this is it doesn't surprise me and counters the narrative that the hostages were treated 'well'. Let's hope the attackers are dead or find justice in some other way.

I’m still really saddened by how the sexual assualts on women were ignored because they were the “wrong” types of women. I hope each and every one of them see justice.

Thank you for posting this, it's probably going to just be consigned to history, but I cannot imagine the nightmare that these women went through.
I'll never get over the sight of that poor woman in her bloodied joggers being shoved into a car, or Shani Louk's broken body being paraded around by those men.

It is sick - rapists should all be imprisoned (and chemically castrated imo)! There were rapists in Hamas and no that is not resistance - there are rapists in the IDF and among prison guards in Israel too - they should also be imprisoned and chemically castrated. I saw photos on the truck of that poor girl - it was horrific.

I have no time for rapists of any nationality or ethnicity - you get horrible violent people in every country and of every religion, the main shared characteristic of these rapists is that 99% of the time they are men! I don’t agree with anyone denies rape happened on either side - every war zone or disaster zone there are always horrible men who use sexual violence and exploit desperate people - it does not make it okay and it should never happen. Personally I think rape and sexual exploitation should be punished much more severely in all countries.

Good points, @KoalaKoKo . I was reading about the horrors in the DRC, with women and children victims of rape on a horrific scale. Sadly, this conflict doesn't seem to make the news.
Always women and children are treated like chattel to be used and abused.

We shouldn't be surprised by this, women are the first casualties of war and sexual violence is part of the attempts to break the opponent, regardless of culture and religion. Men are violent and sadistic when they are protected from consequences.

Plus I think if you've grown up in a society where women have no rights, then there's already a lack of common humanity.
