Visual evidence upends Israel’s official story for deadly attack on Gaza hospital

From Reuters:

The Israeli military had said they targeted a Hamas camera in an August strike, but a Reuters investigation found the device actually belonged to the news agency. An Israeli military official now says troops fired without required approval. Five journalists died in the attack. Their deaths are among some 200 journalist killings by Israel that it has yet to fully explain.

The absence of a full explanation of what happened at Nasser Hospital fits a pattern in Israeli military attacks that have killed journalists since Israel launched its nearly two-year offensive

Yeah the Israeli's government response to killings of innocent people is usually just denial, and if evidence makes that impossible, to blame individual soldiers when clearly the orders come from the top.

It's horrific.

I am shocked. Is this the first time Israel have changed their story when the truth has come out, surely if it isn't people would see a pattern by now and would stop vociferously defending them everytime they kill aid workers and journalists?

SugarPlumpFairyCakes · 27/09/2025 00:58

Nothing will be done. Nothing will change. Hamas will still be its evil self. Netanyahu will still evade justice. Kids will still die. Misery.

Agreed. The IDF has a pattern of killing innocent people, including reporters and aod workers, and then lying about it. It's shameful how people here peddled the nonsense that it was a 'Hamas camera' when it was established immediately that it was a camera belonging to a Reuters camera man. He was livestreaming when he was killed, for goodness sake!

Sadly true. Looks like some posters should be eating humble pie, but yet a crumb won’t even pass their lips.

I'm constantly amazed that people's first instinct seems to be to believe the killers rather than the victims. The lights weren't on, it was a Hamas camera, no troops in the area at the time, instead of believing the victims the killers narrative is pushed then by the time the truth is verified they've moved on to defending the killers next crime and all previous crimes are brushed over.

It's just really sad, deaths caught live on camera and it's still not enough for people to say 'I believe you'. I don't think Palestinians will ever achieve the justice they deserve.

It's because the victims are Palestinians/Muslim. It's pure racism. If the victims were Ukrainian and the perpetrator was Russia, this wouldn't happen.

"The lights weren't on, it was a Hamas camera, no troops in the area at the time"

Sad that I know exactly what incidents you are referring too just by these excuses. All of them I saw being parroted here on Mumsnet.

It’s funny isn’t it how all the pro-Israel posters who literally never question and continually defend everything Israel do and / or come up with arguments to challenge evidence that prove what israel are doing never comment on threads like this.

And then get all upset when no one comments on theirs. The wisest thing is to stay away from them.
