A number of senior military officials have already stated they believe that the war is achieving nothing. If there were to be a concerted and collective defiance (effectively a mutiny by all the forces) they could stop the misery, and they would effectively topple Netanyahu and his coalition. Then some decent politicians could start negotiating.
