Brooklyn woman chased by pro Israeli mob

Nads0622 · 28/04/2025 21:54

this has only made the news because the woman was mistaken for an Arab, had she actually been Arab it wouldn’t have .
She was chased ,kicked , spat at , threatened with rape by pro Israeli men who thought she was Arab at a speech by a far right Israeli minister. The woman feared for her life as the men were chanting death to Arabs .
There’s videos of the incident online which are extremely scary.
If this was the other way around there would
be international outrage with ‘experts’ on religion discussing how Islam treats women, but the reality is the pro Israel community act with impunity.
There was police present who did nothing and I believe no arrests have been made .

Are you in America? Does this affect you in any way?
Back in the UK, I’ve yet to see the Jewish community behaving like this.

It is a sad reflection of humanity when we should only worry about things that directly affect us. This could be a contributory factor to the world standing idly by while tens of thousands of women and children have been slaughtered.

Are we only allowed to discuss events that happen in the UK?

where do I even begin . You come on here on a post in a section of mumsnet titled ‘conflict in the Middle East ‘ demanding to know how it my post affects me here in the UK 🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️
the clue is in the title of this section of mumsnet 🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️.
this is very relevant to the conflict in the Middle East as it happened at a speech by a far right Israeli minister and gives you an insight into how Israel supporters view Palestinians and why israel
is able to act with such impunity.

Yes that is correct. I am asking if you are in the UK and does this affect you?
The link is something that happened in Brooklyn so not the Middle East.
So, my questions are still valid 👍

Nope. I’m asking a question. It’s still allowed on mumsnet

So me asking a question is now a sad reflection on society?
I would say Hamas is the reason that the world is standing idly by’

I'm not sure why these men are representative of everyone who cares about Israel, any more than the kind of people who come on here and make antisemitic comments about drinking the Zionist cool-aid are respresentative of everyone who cares about Palestine.

I haven’t seen the news reports, but taking your version at face value, it sounds like an appalling act of violence that should be dealt with under the full force of the law.

the reality is the pro Israel community act with impunity This, however, is not factual and is clear evidence of bias on your part. For every person who thinks this, there’s someone on the other side talking about how pro Hamas supporters can act with impunity.

The reality is that this is a conflict which attracts incredibly partisan views. And that is a big part of what’s maintaining it. We’ll only make progress when we can all see the common humanity across the communities and all the whataboutery and selective empathy ends.

The incident happened at a speech by an Israeli minister so extremely relevant to the conflict in the Middle East . If you’re only interested in topics in the UK maybe you should be on another thread .

I do agree with most of your points and I hope that going forward posters that are pro Israeli will also agree with this and now realise that a few bad eggs does not negate a whole group and their beliefs.

Apologies meant to quote @BunfightBetty

Fleakster · 29/04/2025 20:19

It was horrific. So much male violence and threat. The awful savagery of men on all
sides. Stains on humanity, all of them.

Nah. I will continue posting here. This isn’t the ‘Israel is bad’ group 🤷‍♀️
It’s an unusual event which by no means represents the Jewish community as a whole.

I was very careful to point out it was pro Israelis who did this and did not mention the Jewish community once in my post .
your reaction to this post is extremely telling .

Would you guys like to see what else has been happening in Brooklyn, the keffiyeh-clad mob going on a rampaging pogrom?

Exactly, dickhead men on both sides.

Neither represent all the good on each side.

If we condemn this sort of violence and harassment we must condemn it from everyone.

Obviously I presume you also condemn what happened to the woman in Brooklyn like I would condemn any group attacking people.

AzraiL · 30/04/2025 01:09

I'm actually surprised this made mainstream news. So many instances of these types of violent encounters are swept under the rug. The footage made me sick to my stomach. That poor woman.

EasyTouch · 30/04/2025 08:00

I seem to remember the Jewish New Yorker who was attacked near his home by pro Palestine LGBT group..and he was attacked by the media for successfully defending himself and even lost his job.

The pro Palestine faction in the West at its worst has been treated with kid gloves in New York, London and the rest of the non US South Anglosphere.

The teacher who was set upon by lots of high school students in New York for being pro Israel is another pro Palestine mob attack that springs to mind.

Being LGBT as perpetrators in the first attack and Black as perpetrators came before the rights of the victims due to being Jewish and Pro Israel in the most Jewish place in the world outside of Israel.

As for the attacks on Jews in London, they aren't headline news in any quarter of the mainstream media.

ExitPursuedByAPolarBear · 05/05/2025 06:57

Attacks on any community is deplorable. A 6 year old American-Palestinian boy was murdered in 2023. He was stabbed 26 times. His mother was attacked first. A Palestinian Christian journalist was shot in the head by the IDF in 2022. So violent hate crimes have been taking place for years.

Man sentenced to 53 years in prison in hate crime murder of 6-year-old Palestinian-American boy

Authorities said Joseph Czuba targeted his tenants because they were Muslim and in response to the war between Israel and Hamas.
