Such a sad but informative article @Scirocco thank you so much for sharing. All the children's stories were heartbreaking but the mum realizing the her 12 day old baby was going to die when she was told just hold him and nurse him is just sad beyond belief.

I can’t imagine the depth of grief and trauma for anyone there. Just beyond heart breaking.

The real mortality figure is probably unknowable, not least because so many families have been killed at once, leaving no one to account for some babies or toddlers ever having existed.

That no one will even know or say they existed is a most terrible thought.
