UK charity 'helping to guide Hamas' counter terror police probe

After the BBC sharing Hamas propaganda, the latest is UK charity facing investigation. We have weekly marches where some clearly support Hamas.

How much money actually reaches innocent people and how much straight into the pocket of terrorists, either deliberately or because the scum pinch it.

Should say UK charity helping to fund Hamas rather than guide them

Doesn't all money sent to Gaza end up in the hands of terrorists one way or another?

I'd hope not, but perhaps it does since they run the show. They don't appear to want to give up their gravy train though and supporters in the west make them think they are right. So more of the same then.

There are lots of reputable charities working directly with people in Gaza.

That may be true, however, "In addition to levying taxes on Gaza’s businesses and residents, Hamas imposes unofficial fees on smuggled goods and other activity." So a lot of the money that gets into Gaza, by whatever means, ends up in their pockets.

Gaza is plagued by poverty, but Hamas has no shortage of cash. Where does it come from?

How do those charities keep the money from the terrorists pockets? Lots of corruption there. We all know hamas leaders were rolling in millions before the war and after 7th October attacks. Mostly millions kept in other countries. Then we hear them say people are starving but then see them well fed and cheering over the dead bodies of a mum and 2 babies.
I don't trust anything about gaza anymore 😕

Hamas has an investment portfolio of real estate and other assets worth $500 million, say experts, and an annual military budget of as much as $350 million.

Wtaf. So make them sell it and give to the people. No wonder hamas keep things in constant hate, its a money churner

@ImmediateReaction which charities were you donating to for Gaza before you read this article that caused you much concern?
Maybe you can query with them how they use the funds collected?

I'm personally quite content with the charities I donate to and will continue doing so.

It's bizarre to me that people give money to charities for Gaza when their leaders, Hamas, are absolutely rolling in it. Why don't they empty out their pockets?

Why do you donate, were you not aware of how much money Hamas has?

Should people not have donated to help the victims of the wildfires in America because Trump's net worth is approximately five billion?

Whatsinanamehey · 02/03/2025 22:49

Some really bizarre logic.

As bad as Trump is, he and his cronies aren't levying taxes on American businesses and residents or imposing unofficial fees on smuggled goods and other activity.

Hamas leaders are directly benefitting from fleecing Palestinians.

That doesn't mean people who still want to help ordinary Palestinians who have lost everything, should stop.

Whatever your views, those who want to donate will continue to do so. And those who don't, won't.

That's the end of my input on this thread as nothing said on here will change my mind anyway. If anything, threads like this, which are perhaps an attempt to deter people, will simply have the opposite effect.

I understand you wanting to help ordinary Palestinians, but doesn't it make you angry that the very people who are supposed to be in charge of the situation are taking advantage of it to get rich?

Martymcfly24 · 02/03/2025 23:20

More than 320 humanitarian workers have been murdered since this round of conflict started.

That makes me very angry.

Surely if we are to be concerned about Hamas getting their hands on aid funds Israel should stop killing the people trying to hand food to people.

Where are you getting this number?

UN

To some it won't matter if terrorists get the money and use it for their aims. It seems to occur with many charities and maybe a reason many people don't give to certain charities. I guess with some charities it either ends up in the hands of overpaid executives or skimmed off for other uses, so less for people who really need it
