Conflict in the Middle East

Does Trump's Mad Plan for Gaza Have Any Merit?

Could Trump’s alarming plan "serve as a wakeup call — whether or not it is something anyone considers moral or practical?"

This journalist suggests, "that wakeup call should be this: the violent rejection of peace over the course of the last century has created enough misery and destruction. This deadly charade must end."

5 minute read: Yes, Trump’s Gaza plan is outrageous. It could also be just what the Middle East needs

"What those Arab officials and so many others fail to acknowledge is that every time a state has been offered to Palestinian leaders, they have vehemently rejected it. Also ignored is the fact that the very countries claiming that Palestinians must remain in Gaza are the same countries who's failed 1948 war against Israel led Palestinians to become refugees in Gaza. While they are very likely correct about the best possible outcome to this conflict, a two-state solution is only possible if Palestinians agree."

Thoughts?

"lets justify ethnic cleansing"

Not about to open some propaganda which is likely to leave malware behind it ta.

So my thoughts are that it’s a load of bollocks and you’d do well to not spread it around.

HTH.

I'm not going to download an app just to read a highly skewed piece of click bait.

I do wonder what the Palestinian and Arab Americans who voted against Kamala Harris because they thought she wasn't pro Palestinian enough think now.

I guess perhaps what the article says is that Trump saying something completely insane has forced other countries in the region to show their hands. I suppose it is possible that just blasting through the glass wall,. rather than trying to work round it, might shift something in the world's most intractable conflict. I don't feel.hopeful,.and I don't think insulting insane ideas have 'merit'.

This just isn’t true. Think of the Oslo accords and Netanyahu's role in derailing them.

It doesn’t even say that - that would have some merit.

it’s so biased it’s not worth commenting on to be honest.
