Very interesting behind the scenes insight here into UK arms sales to Israel and Saudi Arabia for their offenses in Gaza and Yemen respectively. Very disturbing, particularly when it's coming at Ministerial level, but that shouldn't come as a shock unfortunately.

I saw illegality and complicity with war crimes. That’s why I quit the UK Foreign Office | Mark Smith

Ministers and senior officials protected arms deals facilitating death and horror in Gaza and Yemen. I urge my former colleagues to resist them, says one-time Foreign Office policy adviser Mark Smith

@Lalaloveya shameful isn't it. But unsurprising.

@bakedalaska12 Care to comment or explain what you find funny? I must have missed the joke that your laughing emoji alludes to.

From the article

"The most concerning example of this manipulation occurred during my work on arms sales to Saudi Arabia amid its military campaign in Yemen."

There isn't enough condemnation about what occurs in Yeman (or elsewhere either). Its always gaza.

Why is Saudi Arabia in Yemen and what does it mean for Britain?

Very powerful words

The situation in Gaza could not be more acute. The UK’s closest ally now proposes the mass expulsion of 2.1 million people from Gaza and the demolition of one of the most densely populated civilian areas on Earth – this is ethnic cleansing.* *I call on my former colleagues – those who still believe in the values of integrity and justice – to refuse to be complicit. Do not rubber-stamp reports that whitewash crimes against humanity. This is not self-defence – it is collective punishment. It is genocide. The time for silence is over. Do not allow ministers to trade human lives for political expediency. The time for accountability is now.

It's been done to me and no one complained, including me.

I'd argue that laughing at this article which details probable war crimes and the deaths of tens of thousands of civilians is very bad form indeed but we all have different standards I guess.

It’s not comment but the reactions. Only the person that has written the comment can see those reactions.

I’m getting the laughing emotions too now, at least it means the comment has been read by the person you really want to read it.
