Reel’s Grandfather ‘Soul of my Soul’ Khaled Nabhan killed in Gaza this morning

Inna Lilahi Wa Inna Ilayhi Rajiun.

I was scrolling on YouTube and saw a video showing that Khaled Nabhan had been killed in an Israeli air strike in Gaza this morning. As far as I can see so far, this has not been picked up on any Western/mainstream media outlets.

I know there are multiple innocent people being killed in Gaza every single day and no death trumps another but I am so saddened by this news- I feel like almost everyone who came across his story felt an instant connection to him, to see his dignity and kindness in the face of such tragedy and now he too has lost his life in the same way as his grandchildren.

The only positive is I believe and pray for him to be reunited with his beautiful grandchildren in a place where there is no more horror and no more suffering. I just wish his family could have experienced some joy and peace in this world too.

Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un.

May Allah grant all innocent souls unjustly slain, peace and reunion with their loved ones in Jannat al-Firdaus.

It was such heartbreaking news to hear this morning, no innocent life is worth more than another but Khalid Nabhan's resilience in the face of such adversity was inspirational and a symbol of true Palestinian resistance. May he be re-united with his loved ones in the hearafter.

May his soul rest in peace. Even in his last moments he was trying to help people before he was killed.

Why did Israel have to kill him?! He was such a kind, gentle soul. The world is a darker place without him. 😢💔

May he rest in peace and be reunited with little Reem in heaven. He was an embodiment of faith and gentleness in the face of horrific cruelty.
His killing has hit me so hard, I am WFH today and I can't stop the tears from coming.

I sincerely wish that he is now with his beloved Reem and everyone he loved. May he rest in peace.

The video of him holding Reem and saying goodbye to her really.broke me. She looked so perfect except for her cheek.

All I could think about was my own father and the way he idolises my daughters and pictured him saying goodbye to them.

It's a shit world.
