That is horrific and totally unjustifiable.

Let’s not pretend it’s one sided though. Not much mention of that on this board unsurprisingly.

Violence begets violence begets violence. Where did it start and who will end it?

Why not start a separate thread to give the innocent people in both cases the respect they deserve. Nobody deserves to have their own suffering reduced to an attempt to minimise the suffering of someone else.

Didn’t take long for the derailment

many will tell that these are extremists that don’t represent the country … unfortunately, they are part of the country so they represent it

I think I saw a prequel to this yesterday. One Israeli man driving like a madman over their land. BBC, all filmed. He was supremely confident that the land is his by right and is extremely aggressive. I understood he can then call the IDF in and make a false complaint about the family who are trying to farm the area. So one madman maybe but taken seriously by the IDF and in their view he is righteous.

Yes channel 4 showed a similar film, really aggressive guy on a quad bike (might have been the same guy?). He nearly ran one of the reporters over, Paraic O'Brian had to jump out the way! The guy then calls the IDF to come and back him up, let's be very clear the Israeli Government absolutely support the settlers, they can do anything they like 😡

Those terrorist attacks on innocent Israelis are awful and the perpetrators must be punished for the dreadful crimes.

But are you inviting a comparative list of what Israelis have done to Palestinians since 1948? Or even in 2023? Or are you presuming there is too little to see there?

Yes, I saw on Channel 4 the gun carrying quad-bike riding, terrorising, settler thug - who thinks that God gives him the right to the land - stopping the Palestinian family from harvesting their olives.

Apparently the IDF arrived then made the land a “no go” area. So then the family can’t go on it to carry out their harvest. All sorts of tricks are employed, to get hidden Israeli government sanctioned settlements established.

NB There was an Israeli organisation with the Ch 4 man trying to help the family, and an Israeli woman who investigates the sleights of hand of big Israeli settlement-funding organisations which help people like said thug to carry out their land stealing crimes.

Oh I’m sorry. You only want to focus on one side as the aggressors.

Do you ever wonder if the ‘settler’ violence is a response to decades of terrorism by Palestinians?

No? I bet you don’t.

Of course it is abhorrent and cannot be condoned but the motivation behind it needs to be addressed.

No, I’m making the point that there is violence in both sides.

There is a long list of terrorist attacks on Israelis since 1948.

Be interested to know if Israelis have used suicide bombers and teenage children to carry out stabbing sprees in Palestinian Territories though.

Scirocco · 21/11/2024 12:25

@ShortCircuited if you read the article, you'll see that the killing of a Palestinian woman and the violent assault of an Israeli woman are both reported. I'm not sure how a soldier shooting one unarmed woman and an armed man breaking the ribs of another unarmed woman can be considered an acceptable response to anything. If you genuinely considered such acts abhorrent, why was your initial response to try to instantly derail the thread...

I wonder how Trump will support his great friend, Netanyahu over this. However, unless it was tweeted (X'd, directly explained by Elon?) or somehow emoji'd on a a Golden Arches container we'll never know if even made it through to his one remaining brain cell; currently trembling under his wig and concreted for protection under copious application of L'Oréal extra strength hairspray.

I think the Hilltop Youth are known for violence, if you are interested in knowing more about violence on both sides.

This thread is about Palestinians not being allowed to harvest their crops

Did you happen to know that the Israeli State has archival documents related to Israeli in 1948 which are currently being kept unavailable for study (censored in other words)?

Testimonies From the Censored Deir Yassin Massacre: 'They Piled Bodies and Burned Them'

This is about the intentional making of a wasteland which is just so sad and wrong.

I imagine there is precious agricultural knowledge being lost and a very negative environmental impact from the loss of trees, quite apart from the suffering of people and animals.
