Newborn babies now have little chance of survival in Gaza, hospital director warns | World News | Sky News

This is an outrage, but an entirely foreseeable outcome from Israel's cruel treatement of the people of Gaza. Never in my life have I seen so many instances in a conflict of newborn babies being killed, or left to die, or conditions created where they will inevitably die. It's sickening.

Newborn babies now have little chance of survival in Gaza, hospital director warns

Mothers are so malnourished they cannot breastfeed, so their babies are dying - literally starving to death - because they cannot get the vital nutrition they desperately need.

This is so sad 😞

Auvergne63 · 04/07/2024 13:45

This is beyond belief.
I am sure that someone will be posting soon to say that, if only Hamas released the hostages, the war would be over; despite Netanyahu saying to the contrary.

keenforhelp · 04/07/2024 16:22

Terribly sad.

It would help though, if so many Gazans were to stop supporting Hamas and urge their government to change their death charter against all Jewish people?

I don't understand how anyone can see this humanitarian disaster and still cheer on the force doing it. Babies didn't vote for Hamas or support Hamas in any way, but they're still facing death sentences simply because they're Palestinian.

SighingMum23 · 04/07/2024 16:46

Why is this so low on the home page. It is truly shocking that this has all been allowed. Poor babies who are suffering.

It didn't take long!!!!!! How predictable.

I think you have answered your own question. It's because they are Palestinians.

Stop victim blaming and please provide evidence of babies voting for Hamas.

I guess because it is very hard to defend.

anotherlevel · 04/07/2024 17:22

@ConnieCounter This is absolutely heartbreaking. What chance did they have in this life to survive and have a peaceful life. None whatsoever. :(

You're absolutely right and I broke my own rule from another thread too.

🤣 you cannot be this ill informed. Hamas is a proscribed terrorist organisation, not a government.

Gazans resisted the Hamas take over in 2007 and a lot of them were shot on the spot. Hamas has since then ruthlessly murdered any Gazan suspected of not being sincere in their professed support for Hamas, with a few extra family members for good measure,

Hamas controls Gaza with an iron fist. The very idea that Gazans can just defeat Hamas while starving, fleeing bombs and living on piles of rubble & rubbish with sewage to drink when an entire army, navy and air force armed by the most powerful county in the world is currently failing to do so is absurd.

SugarandSpiceandAllThingsNaice · 04/07/2024 18:27

I am beyond hacked off that this war has been permitted to drag on for so long. If it were anyone else the UNSC would have put together UN peacekeepers and the U.S. would have done sanctions to pressure both Nethanyu and his cabinet and Hamas to accept some kind of ceasefire.

It has been day after day of more death and destruction with children suffering the most of all. It is a genocide of children.

Why are you laughing ?

Most Gazans do support Hamas even though they cannot fight them. The opinion polls show that most agree with their charter still.

anotherlevel · 04/07/2024 18:39

Do you have a link for the opinion poll @keenforhelp?
When was this poll taken and how?

A “yes yes I support Hamas” said while under the duress of you will be murdered along with some of your children if you say otherwise isn’t a valid survey response.

I’m laughing at the absurdity of your solution. It’s either that or cry at a situation where someone like you in your privileged bubble of a free society hasn’t a clue what it is like to live under military dictatorship.

Sure 71 % in the poll here

Any poll taken in Gaza isn’t worth a hill of beans because the people were and are not free to express their opinions,

99.99% of Russians “supported” Stalin back in the day too…because if they didn’t they’d end up dead as class traitors or worked to death in a gulag labour camp.

Absurdity at my solution ? Such inflammatory behaviour just because you don't want to hear a different opinion.

Oh no, I am happy to hear different opinions, that’s why I am discussing your opinion with you

You should be happy to hear my opinion of your opinion.
